Drivetrain Your MCS exhaust reference thread. Videos. Sound clips. etc
Hi everyone, My apologizes for going off topic...
I'm a new member, and I was reading up on some topics since I just bought a MC. I was looking for info about the exhaust on mine, and low and behold there is a picture of it!
I know mine was from NH, has the same exhaust, was originally purchased from that dealer, and has the same winter tires.

I'm assuming the previous owner isn't active here anymore since he/she traded the MC awhile back for another vehicle (possibly an STI), but I'd love to know more about my new car, and whatever history it has.
BTW I really like the sound of the exhaust. Nice and throaty, not too much buzz.
Edit: I figured it out. It was mcs22004 who's no longer active since about the time the MC was traded in.

How about a close up shot of the tips from up top (maybe the manufacturers logo is inscribed in the tips) also a shot of the two mufflers from underneath might help you out as well (manufacturer might have a label on the body of the muffler as well). IMHO It looks like it could be a borla system but I'm not that good at picking out exhaust from one picture. Anyways, hope this helps you out some....

Here is a sound clip of the Scorpion exhaust on my 06 S

Thanks! That's my exhaust...and dirty ***...with the scruffed bumper...being replaced with aero kit.
The scorpion is not going to give you the biggest boost in power but it does add some. The sound however is very very nice. No drone at any speed or RPM. Check about four posts up for a sound clip on my car
Dinan exhaust with Mynes Straight headers

I've since added a Magnaflow resonator in there. It was way too loud for daily driving.

For anyone that cares, I have the ALTA cat back, w/ obx header, (no cat)...Heres the vid! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u-aLioVcBA
hi I'm having problems, ever since i did a one ball mod, and the the exhaust shop told me to de-cat my mini, it has been way too loud, and seven days later, my car keeps going into "limp mode". the EML light and the traction control/asc light comes on and my car loses power and won't rev over 2000rpm, I don't know what to do and i don't know how to fix the problem

If your MINI is already "too loud", if you take out your cat, it will be even louder... I dont think that taking out your cat will help solve your limp mode issues. Check to make sure you dont have an exhaust leak...If your MINI is really loud, and you still have your cat, i would check that 1st. If you do have a leak, that could probably relate to your limp mode issues...The exhaust may not have enough back pressure or something b/c of the leak...Good luck!
my Cat ruptured, it split at one of the seams on the cat. so the exhaust shop decided that it would be best to De-cat. i do think there is a leak cause the exhuast does sound like it is 'blowing' i also think the may have damaged the sensor, when they used the torch to remove it.
Does my car need it's Cat?
Does my car need it's Cat?
You need the catalytic converter to pass the emissions test. (I believe it is required by law.) And without it, your sensors are going to throw lights on the dash.

I'll get a new sound clip shortly. It is s-e-x
