Ladies and gentlemen...

I bring you the most ridiculous and badass exhaust for the MCS.

too bad it's entirely custom.

In regards to the Megan Racing "rip off" exhaust that is available on a bunch of websites (upscale auto, ilovebodykits, driven by style)... Tge manufacturer of this exhaust is 4 Car Options, (626-968-8666). They told me that this exhaust is a generic version of Megan's exhaust. Same T304 stainless, Same mufflers, same mandrel bends, same hangers, same sound. He then went on to say that the Megan exhaust is no longer available, and that most likely, if you order one online, this is what you will get. So then my question is, Who is to say that this wasn't always the Megan exhaust, or are they full of crap and it's really some t409 stainless (or worse) put together with Duct tape, chewing gum and a banana?

Thoughts???

Got a different exhaust that I didnt see on the list, hope it helps

Ive got a John Cooper Motorsports (JCM) cat back fitted on mine. It is a UK Challenge specification. Very similar in appearance to the JCW cat back but noise levels are higher, deeper and slightly more rasp.

Video of my car when on dyno run immediately after fitting - I will get more videos now that it has 'settled' the tone has changed, alot less raspy....

The car also has a Janspeed header with janspeed sports cat and no central resonator - just a straight pipe from cat to rear JCM boxes/silencers.

If you need more info let me know...

Spiral flow anyone?

I don't know if anyone has tried this yet but I was thinking of doing the "one ball" setup but throwing in a moroso spiral flow muffler in there instead of the stock unit. They go for around $50-$60 online. I don't think it would cost too much to get it installed either. I believe it would net you a power gain somewhere near what the $800+ exhaust systems are going for.

I have one on my old Saturn coupe w/ a side-exit exhaust and it is surprisingly quiet at cruising speeds and not too raspy when you get on it.

Here is a link: http://www.moroso.com/catalog/catego...?catcode=35054

very helpful, thanks. With price tags like those I think I'm just gonna build my own - but the info was good and I got a few ideas after looking at them all.

From what I've read (but I'd like confirmation from others), the Borla Race is one of the loudest (there is also a Borla street that is quieter). I'd be curios how the Borla Race compares to the Alta with the new smaller resonator, because with the smaller resonator, it is louder than the original).

trust me, the magnaflows for the minis carry the same attributes . the idle with an aftermarket header sounded meaner than my friends full 3 inch exhaust on his evo

upgrade.

i am trying to find the exhaust that will make me and my 06 R53 happy for a long time, please help. i want something loud and throaty on throttle, laid back while cruising, and of course... gets me some extra horses under the hood. the more the better. i also would like it not to fall apart any time soon or sound like a pissed off bumble bee ( cough cough cherrybomb cough ) i was thinking the R53 MINI Cooper Exhaust System from alta or Invidia N1 Catback Exhaust from WAY motor works. any suggestions or alternatives are soooo apreciated. thanks!!

mankypurple, Here is a sound clip of the Alta exhaust on my 2006 MCS, in car with the windows up and the back seats down. It has developed a rattle since then, but at least it you can hear the general sound when it was in better shape. The Alta has a very specific sound at high RPMs. It does burble an pop like mad (I love that) but I don't have a recording of that.

I have the JCW w/ resonator delete and absolutely love it! Sounds really aggressive, especially on WOT. You can hear this thing from almost 2 miles away. But, it's quiet when you want it to be. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Plus, I was getting some nice burble on the over-run between shifts! Friend said it reminded him of a Ferrari.
Best clip that I've found. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ql2xfPJN3c

Nice custom exhaust btw

How is your setup mounted, any pics or drawing? I thought for a while to go with an R56 exhaust, but I look at the prices and I'm better with a custom exhaust! Your setup with the cutout closed sounds not so loud at all!

da_ ghost... Im still working on the mounting. changing it day to day.
Currently, just to get it on the car, its using the factory hangers, and just resting. In the coming months, when i have time, money and access to a tig or mig, ill finish it up properly with custom brackets, but the exhaust needs some fitment tweaking before then.
if you cant see this, just pm me and ill fix it (facebook linked image)

i know.. i need to get the slag off of it...
