Hi Mark,

Curious did you ever take your car to the strip?

Assuming your car is 2700lbs, and not the 2500lbs from the other thread, and assuming 15% drivetrain loss. That would put your mini at around 260hp. Giving it a power to weight ratio 10.38. Which is rather close to my Stage 2 SRT-4 at 10.27. That stage 2 ran 13.69@106.xx. If the JCW can put those times down, that is impressive. Would be weird for a 1.6L haha.

I bet that car has some serious zip.

It would not be outlandish for his car to weigh around 2500lbs. I have weighed my car on more then one occasion. Without me in it and with the tank nearly empty it has always come in around 2550lbs.

That's funny you mention drag strips. I haven't taken the mini only because anything less than a 12 second car is just, well, kinda boring at the strip.

A few of us were bs'ing today and figured based on HP/TQ, the car should probably run high 13's. (which is in line with what you were saying your car did)

If the car broke into the 13's, I'd be impressed with it... still not worth going to the dragstrip but impressive nonetheless.

And yes, the car pulls nicely throughout the powerband... I've shocked more than a few people.

I'd think with proper tires and an experienced driver (drag experience) your car would easily see low 13's.

I know people that got low 13's in an R53 with just about the same HP as you, but far far less torque...prob around 180 ft lbs.

A lot of people say drag racing is stupid, especially with a FWD car like the MINI...but I think it's always kinda fun to bring your car out and see what you can get out of it.

+1

Taking any car to the drag strip is fun. I took my base crossfire 6-speed(stock) and ran a 14.92@93.01. I had just as much fun taking that as I did my bolt-on 03 Cobra.

I'd be mostly interested in the trap speed of his JCW. Well if I get a JCW or a S, there will be drag times from me for sure. Stock then modded.

My Stock SRT-4 which would be about the same whp and torque ran 14.025@103.69. But the SRT-4 was nearly 300lbs heavier.

I think they should just throw a 2.0 in the JCW and slap on a 16G.

I've been waiting since the fall of 2007, granted not just for RMW but he's the closest and I'm tired of itching :-)

Jan, how many maps have you found in the R56 ECU and how many are you changing?

I have just finished reading all 24 pages of this post and it has been informative. I will be interested to see what I get with my 2007 JCW MCS with the JCW Stage One intake, MM JCW cone air filter, ALTA intercooler and tubes x3 and the factory 2009 JCW exhaust ( Down to one CAT). I am at 188.5HP and 204 for TRQ right now at the wheels.

Run #4 is before I added the Mini Madness JCW replacement high flow air filter in the factory JCW stage one air box and switching to the 14.2lb wheels.

AND... I'm really glad to hear about your success with the auto trans.
Add another in Norcal. Would be nice to have the tune right when I get done with my break in

So, I sorta skipped over 20 pages of this, as I just discovered it. Anybody note their new 0-60 time, and compare to the old? Just curious.
