Frankly, I don't know the details of what is needed once transferred to another owner. This is the same question though that was asked by another interested party in PM. I suggested, so all that person's questions got answered without a lot of back and forth, or something lost in translation, that they contact Jan at RMW directly. However, I have also done the same, as of last night, as I suspected there'd be others asking this question too and I'd at least not want to give out even basic misinformation. When I get an answer, I'll post what I know, but suggest those possibly interested also do their own investigation so no one feels misled in the end.

Lots of questions coming in on this tool kit. Please be patient, as I hope to learn from RMW answers to the questions being asked. Maybe by Tuesday I'll know something and post it. Thanks for all the PMs and queries.

THIS IS THE ANSWER TO MANY FOLKS QUESTIONS:

[FONT=Calibri][SIZE=3] Good to hear from you! Currently the flash tool will NOT work on the 2015 but we expect it to in the future
The flash tool will work on MANY different European cars also
The tool MUST BE RESET to work on any Mini/other make to work again as it is locked to the VIN#. Cost to pay Dimsport is $150 to reset back to virgin.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Definitely impacts the value for some. Maybe even makes me think twice about selling it, as there's a possibility of using it at some future date on my new 2015 JCW hardtop. Those interested though should let me know by PM where they're at now with this information. Thanks.

I may end up hanging on to the tool. Jan said he expects it will be usable to reprogram my 2015. Considering its cost and that anyone would probably pay me no more than $100 for it here, seems like I ought to hang onto it. OEM pulley though is still available.

...........but, the pulley remains available for anyone using the GOING BACK TO STOCK theme and damaged their OEM pulley when removing it.

OK, there's no point in selling the tune kit tools, as Jan said they'd get to figuring out how to use it on my new '15. Still a pulley is a pulley and they can get damaged. Yes, I know it is not a reduction version, but some here run nothing but OEM.

Learned something about the OEM pulley today. In receiving an offer that was below my expectations, I went to get information to know if the offer was reasonable. In the offerer's eyes it was, as they do not need one desperately. They just bought a 1st Gen and it came with a reduction pulley and they'd prefer to return the car to stock.
OK, so I don't need it any longer, but they are not dying to have it either. So, I try to find the part, new or used, both with Mini dealers, parts distributors, and on resale sites, like eBay.
Guess what? Shocked me, but I was informed the OEM pulley only comes as a part of the supercharger. There are plenty of new and used reduction pulleys made by pretty much every after market party out there, but if you want an OEM, right now this one may be the only game in town.
Surprising to me that the market isn't flooded with OEM pulleys, when so many Mini S owners have gone the reduction route. I only am selling mine because I got rid of the 2006 car and realized I'd retained this OEM part when I went reduction years ago. What did everyone else do with theirs?
So, I'm curious, if you cannot buy a new one without a supercharger attached, or cannot even find one that came off in favor of a reduction model, what happened to them? Also curious as to what a fair ask for it would be.
I thought $30, all in, shipped anywhere in the lower 48 was fair. As the offer was considerably less, I countered with $20, all in, shipped anywhere in the lower 48. Thoughts out there in NAMland?
