Drivetrain R56 custom tuning by RMW
+7 for the norcal tune - can someone local look into a dyno shop and contact Jan. I would but I live in NV. SF is a lot closer than LA! I think with the little response we have already, it would be quite easy to fill up 2 days
Opps, are we "plus 1'ing" for a Norcal tune or a standalone OBDII reader?
If it's for the tune...well, no need. If it's for the standalone, I'll take one.

Driving Ambition in gold river(which is in sac), right by highway 50...they have done alot of mini stuff in the past as well.
We'll have a few more in the Seattle area after July 24-26, but it would be great to get some additional feedback from people who've been tuned. what works, what doesn't ? what mods were worth the money ?
Don,
Though I was originally "unhappy" with the "numbers", I have come to realize that the car doesn't really need much more.... I mean, there's no such thing as too much but almost with this car.
The only thing I'd really like is to smooth out the torque curve.... for some reason, JCW's tend to dip unlike the MCS's. It doesn't matter since my low dip is the usual high for an MCS...
The car is on the verge of torque steer... depending on the stance of the car when you nail it, it will pull you easily to one side if the road is a bit uneven.
I had woman in a GTR3 ask me what I had done to the car because she said not only could she hear me coming, it sounded mean as hell. The exhaust sounded great when I got it but the extra HP really changes the exhaust sound.
If I were to do it all over again, I think I would have kept the mods I've done but probably stayed with a JCW CAI instead.
Would I do the tune all over again? Absafreakinlutely.... I can't wait to have Jan come to Thomasville so I can spend a day tweaking what I already have.

Downpipe and intercooler
I believe the methanol will pay big dividends with this engine
we have a pulse width modulation system coming for direct injection engines
it will be the first world wide sytem that truly works as a "TRUE" PWM
Here're my before and after curves.

Current mods:
Alta CAI
Alta Turbo Intake tube
Alta Catback
Alta Intercooler
VIP hotside IC muffler delete
Many thanks to Jan. It made the Angeles Crest run this weekend outstanding.

Jan.
I'm looking forward to my tune in Seattle at the end of this month. I am considering ditching the foam CAI in my r56s while keeping the dp and larger intercooler. If you think the CAI is largely insignificant for gains, I'll remove it prior to meeting you. Please let me (and others) know your thoughts. I am considering putting back the stock intake and a high flow filter because I am tired of the additional noise.

Not big on the CAI as they do very little if anything, very similar to the R53s
For those asking we are still working on the VVT maps
+1 more
I am number 8.

If I have the car in front of me, I'm sure I can tune it. Trying to the 1st one remotely.... doubt it. Hard to see if anything is mechanically wrong with it

Cool, Im planning on going with the GT28RS kit as soon as I get back in the country, but Im hesitant because nobody has had one successfully tuned.
Good thing your local.
Let us know how it goes with the remote tune.
Jan,
Rumor has it you've done norcal tunes before... specifically at this location:
http://goodies-speedshop.com/ (they have a dynapack!)
Think we could get another one soon? There is clearly enough interest to occupy your time for at least a day.

LATEST UPDATE*****************
I've found quite a few more maps............
I tested it on an automatic..........
All I have to say is this::::: If I could only make the R53 autos shift like this............
