Hey, I didn't know about this!
I assume you're referring to the TVS header and the "quiet" exhaust.

I will drive my car down there personally so you can use it as a tester.

I don't believe Jan will be putting TVS headers on those cars. I'm sure they are for TVS cars and stroker only. May be used on highly moded 1.6L but I would think those are right at the limit of power, such as Danny's car.

If you want another test car, I'd be willing to sacrifice my stock SC so you can install the TVS on mine, I'll do the testing and videos

the drive is worth it
what's a 1500 mile drive on coil-overs, somewhat loud exhaust, and RSD. comfy ride
what's funnier is, my girlfriend said she's going on a fun drive with me in a month, haha, she hasn't been in the car since I got the coil-overs. It's gunna be a 5 hour drive

We have Cross coils with Swift springs also and I think the ride is pretty smooth. The Bilstein PSS coils on my Jetta are very harsh in comparison.

Here's a question.
When my stock supercharger fails I'd like to get a TVS unit from Jan. However right now I want to put on the RMW street header - should I wait and get the TVS header or will the street header be ok for the TVS on a 1.6?

Eaton told me at SEMA that they would have the TVS by Sept of next yr at the latest. Hopefully they will make the rotors before then. The TVS 900 will work on the shorty but will obviously work even better on the stepped header.

For it to work at the maximum you will need the head for sure

Hi Jan, this is very exciting. With my setup, I can basically just bolt the TVS on? I would not need a new intake system etc?

once we get the TVS 900 then I will be able to tell for sure. With this much cfm my guess would be to go to the bigger TB but time will tell. We will test it both ways to find out

You lucky dawg! I look forward to the results. Will this be the TVS header and quiet exhaust, or just one of them?

the ride isn't harsh by my standards, but it's definitely stiffer than the stock suspension, I'll eventually want get some swift springs. good news though, for me, my girlfriend was in my car today and said the suspension wasn't too stiff, woo haha.

when you have 262whp/234tq.... who needs to take out weight?

if you look at Madness's best time with a pro driver in their turbo car on the same track it put down 1:31
I ran the farthest you can around the track....1.8mi
on the last track day I ran 1:28xxx on 5 laps and multiple sub 1:30s
when you take out the warm up laps you can see every run was 1:30 or under
I did 1:28 in only 5 track days.... I went 1:30 in 2 track days.... go figure

here is the info from the Eurotuner GP event on the Madness car
2003 Mini Cooper SDriver: Brian Smith - World Challenge driver, former test driver with BFG/Michelin, runs national driving school
Dyno: 328.8hp, 237.4 lb/ft of torque (8th)
Quarter-mile: 13.86 @ 106.4mph (9th)
Lap time: 1:31.275 (4th)
Engine: 1.6 liter four cylinder with JE pistons, engine balanced and blueprinted, ported cylinder head with larger valves, Mad Dog GT28RS turbocharger, AEM engine management, Mini-Madness chargecooler, engine oil cooler and baffled oil pan, 3" exhaust with no cats
Driveline: six-speed manual with RPS lightweight flywheel, Spec clutch, Quaife limited-slip diff, short shifter
Suspension: Leda coilovers, H&R springs, Mini-Madness 22mm rear sway bar, tubular front control arms and adjustable rear control arms, poly suspension bushings, camber plates
Wheels & tires: 17x7" SSR Competition wheels, 225/40-17 Falken Azenis RT-615 tires
Brakes: Wilwood big brake kit, DS2500 pads, stainless steel lines
Exterior: OE Mini aero kit, carbon rear spoiler
Interior: OMP seats, five-point harness, welded-in rollcage, tachometer with shift light, Turbosmart boost control, oil pressure and water temp gauges
Are you basing all your turbo arguments on the above times Jan ?How many seconds do you think the 225 40 17 Falken Azenis RT-615 would slow you down at SOW ?Surely you can only compare times if you were on the same tyres ?

Paul I understand what you are saying as the tires can't compare equally but don't you think all the suspension work, quaife, wilwood brakes, and increased horsepower (and maybe torque) that was done on the Madness car could overcome a few R comp tires??? I dont see how just running some hoosier's makes the comparison unfair and in Jan's favor????
