Perhaps just buy a tank and pump and wire all that up. Likely to be cheaper anyway. I know some of the water meth guys have gone out and gotten big tanks for the boot, then plumbed up some hose. You could get a large tank for the rear and just do that.

The washer tank is pretty small for a sprayer system. As it is I fill mine twice a month just to keep my windows clean!

Now I think about it your right, the stock tanks are pretty small. I heard someone mention that they were using a "bladder type" reservoir that would fit in the passenger cowl. That ring a bell with anyone? I think it was made by Ford or Dodge..... some car manufacturer anyway. It came complete with the reservoir and pump built in. Might be small but to be honest, I'm not sure I'd be spraying it all of the time.

I am thinking of doing the same and to get the most out of a water sprayer you have to make sure that the pump is powerfull enough and the spray is delivered as a mist.
The rear wiper pump just won't cut it, and the wiper reservoir is too small.
I agree with rustyboy and a stand alone system is the way to go (pump, tank etc).
I am thinking of going completely over the top and doing something along the lines below couped with the GTT sprayer (which also has an on off switch)

There is also
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DEI-C...spagenameZWD1V
but don't know what the quality is like...

My TMIC v1 from Alta does not touch on any of these points and is held in place only by the silicone couplers on both end. I suppose with the stock hump-hoses it might move far enough to touch but with the silicone, it doesn't move a bit.

I had a small plastic tank and washer pump from an old toyota (dont remember which one) I crammed it in that space compartment under the window vent on the passengers side. I'll put it back in there and show some pics. I never bothered to put it back in when I switched to the DFIC. Now I need ideas for a sprayer nozzle. The last one unscrewed itself and fell out onto the road somewhere.

I was thinking of using GTT intercooler sprayer hooked up to an external pump/tank http://www.gtt.uk.com/parts2.asp
Not cheap but it is quality and won't fall off!

Why don't you just buy the controller that Snow performance offer for the Water/Meth kit? All you need to do is give it power and you run the other side to a pump. Hook up a boost line to it and then set when you want it to come on via the boost dial. Easy as, then you just need to find a location for the tank.

The one I had, and others I've seen actually have quite a bit of wear from engine vibration.

I am also very interested in adding a sprayer on my M7 DFIC. Does your sprayer use an existing washer pump and tank on the car? I have a convertible so I am looking for something that can be run independent of the rear wiper set up.

Thanks

Rob
Thanks for asking. If that occurs it is likely due to the instructions not being followed or were un-clear in the beginning. (No offense intended.) You need to grind down those mounts in the front to prevent issues of the two wearing together. I can only think of one or maybe two cores that were ever returned for warranty wear in this area, and both were OBVIOUS that the instructions hadn't been followed. If you have one of them now and are concerned, please E-MAIL ME with photos and we can work things out ASAP!

IF you have a vert, then I suggest a quick trip to NAPA and buy an accessory kit to convert an old school car from manual pump type washer spray to an electric pump. Kit includes pump, washer line, basic wiring and a switch, retails for about $12.99 and then you simply tap either the Cold Weather Pak tank on the Driver Side or the Washer Tank on the Passenger side. No big deal.

Let me know if I can ever help in anyway shape or form!

Adam - my V1 TMIC install went without a hitch - plenty of clearance all around. No grinding. I did put the little clear rubber bumpers on all possible points of contact but nothing was even remotely close and the IC does not move.

PS: still waiting for Ken to call me back. I might give him a ring tomorrow afternoon when I am off work... if I can pull a less-than-12-hour day lol.

Also - for those looking to do sprayers - have you considered the selection of "Lowe's Motorsports" irrigation supplies? There are all sorts of misters and sprayers and drippers etc for low volume/indoor type irrigation systems that would be pretty good for misting the IC.... and cheap!

PERFECT! Sorry if Ken didn't get back to you sooner. Monday's can be a bit hellish! I am at the track all day today, otherwise I would say ring me directly. Let me know if I can help further!

I understand that there is better $ to be spent, but intercoolers are an important part of the system. This guy asked which is better M7 or Alta. There are internal and external upgrades. Intercoolers have proven to benefit engines already built to the sky. So lets focus on which one amplifies our built engines the best. Intense, how are things?

Well, last weekend I was sick as a dog and couldn't get it done. I'm shooting for this weekend however, the friend I have helping me with the computer part of things doesn't get back until friday. Things kinda depend on his availability and if we can get Nardo to walk us through a couple things on Sat.

If this weekend fails we will for sure get it done the following weekend.

Allow me to translate what might be construed as a thinly veiled advertisement.

Aftermarket I/C's have their place. As an early mod it doesn't make a lot of sense return on the dollar wise. Once other modifications to the power train have been affected and there is still room in the budget then it's time to bring in one of the aftermarket I/C's that fit your driving style and climate to help make the most of the other expenditures.

I could not agree more with Nate on the priority of a aftermarket IC with regards to upgrading your power plant. With rare exception , the main one being climate , there are several other things that will give you a much bigger bang for the buck. A pulley conversion is usually the foremost on anyone's list and after that it is all a law of diminishing returns. In my opinion a IC rates up with here with a header for example. A header on a stock car will give you next to nothing as far as an increase in power but once you begin to modify the car with a intake and perhaps a head and cam you begin to truly get your monies worth out of that purchase. The key thing to remember with any IC is that they don't really make much HP, they SAVE it .
