A "mild cam" which produces more gains across the entire board than any other cam? Riiiiight...

That didn't quite prove out at our dyno day last weekend. Lets just say my car with a stock cam did just as well with a car with a cam. But the same two cars a couple months ago, at a different dyno, the cam did make a difference, go figure?

Our cars are very similar, and both are 03's, which seems to make a difference also. The only main difference is our types of intercooler.

Ok soooo, if I add the Cam--which has been on my To Do list for awhile---should I upgrade the injectors too?? Currently stock. Only change I've made since Jan last tuned it was dumping the M7 16% pulley for a Helix 17%.

I am wondering how much of a difference I would see with a RMW cam. I think I will just make due since it is almost fall and Winnie will be put up for a bit. Then maybe the new SC from Jan in the spring.

Yep I'm awaiting the bolt on TVS blower kit to use when my SC bites the big one!

I think the new ZR1 uses a 4 lobed TVS, which is good for over 600HP with 19 psi of boost.

I can tell you that the cars with the AGS do NOT make big torque numbers
you are much better off with the stock tube

we have numerous cars that came in with the cam and made big torque numbers over the stock cam. Comparing one car to another isn't a true comparison, you dyno the car pre-cam and after cam

knowing how to tune the cam to the car gives even better results.....

Understood Like I said, it did make a difference the last time. Now that we have a dyno we can access, it will be nice to compare mods before and after

only if you have the RMW head, otherwise 380's offer enough headroom. with a 17% pulley, you're probably losing a bit of power up top on stock injectors.

You guys are funny If you make many perfomance modifications on any engine you should consider getting your own profile to match all those changes instead of a "cookie cut camshaft"

When I PM'd with Jan a couple days ago, he said he's hoping to see them in 2 weeks--but didn't sound certain either, lol.

Hey Richard, let me know how you like the cam with a stock head. I will be going the same route as you are pretty soon.

I just realized that it is ridicules that there are but only about 4-6 cams grinds that are available to choose from on the retail market. And most are the same or close to the same specifications. And after listening to that “what is lope” video it to bad that you can’t just open a catalog and pick a cam based on your personal performance upgrades. Heck I would love to hear more street MINIs lope. And all it would take is to simply change the lobe separation from the standard 112-116* to about 105-108*. Now that would be nice. And it would basically only alter the bottom end a little. But heck the DYNO runs are all at 7k plus anyway so who cares. But no we have the world, as we know it with limited choices for most with Minis.

I am glad I don't live in the same world as most
