I would love to have thrown a head on the car while I was at it, but my car's taking the "show car" + "Sunday drive" route & won't see the track, so my money's going elsewhere on the car.

it was the cam... you could have gotten the same a/fs with stock injectors as what your tune showed

How will this new cam work on my car that has your head and a Schrick cam now?

Danny gained torque across the rev-range by swapping out his Schrick for an RMW.

Craig,
it will increase the low end torque where you need it most
will probably need a tweak on the tune though

so how do you like the car?

I really like the "ex" Spider X car so far. So next we will do the 440cc injectors, your new cam, and a new tune? A fatter torque curve is always good. Can you (or Danny) get this done before my track day on June 1st at Big Willow with BMWCCA?

here is some reading for you, gives you an idea of what it does
Nice read, thanks.

OK, 83whp was an impressive gain even for those listed mods, so the combo sum is greater than the individual components, awesome.

Yes,
I have more cams being shipped that should be here later next week. Give me a call tomorrow to talk about a few things that might help out with your track day. I have injectors in stock

thats what properly designed parts working together can do

this is exactly why we run a full system approach. The cars that do the best are the ones who have the least mods on them when we start

we have found that many of the parts made just make the car run worse than one that has few parts on it. Look at the dyno days I have done, the proof is in the pudding. These are watched by groups of people seeing exactly what works and doesn't.

I find these to be educational experiences for those wanting to mod their cars. When people ride in one of our cars they can see how the car is supposed to feel

The 440's and cam only take a few hours to put on. Shouldn't be an issue. Give Danny a call and check his availability.

I'll be at the track on the 30th and the 1st. See you there Craig!

Jan;
Concerning injectors, should one upgrade to some other size if only a cam and pulley upgrade for example, and then only get 440s if Cam, head, pulley, and exhaust ?
Or is it better to just get 440 regardless of the upgrades, and then forget about it?

if you do everything but the head, then stick with 380cc as you will get a better tune

440cc are when you are really needing the injector up top to keep it cool

depends upon what you are trying to do with your car

you should check your cam when you install it to make sure it is degreed in
properly

is it necessary in your application? probably not

racers do this for every last possible hp out of their car

Adj. cam gear seems to have more benefit (obviously, more difficult to tune) on DOHC engine. Adjusting the cam gear will change/improve the character of the torque curve to suit your need.

On SOHC, most benefit is to be able to move the useable torque curve up or down the rev band, make most benefit of the powerband to fit your need.

Actually, We can do more with the ACG than the above (more complicate as well), just give you the rough idea.

Just my 2 cents.

the cam in our cars are the same (stock cam)
this was designed by BMW to save money so they are a compromise cam

I doubt our cam will work well on a NA car. We are building a 1.8L stroker 13:1 racing cooper engine and it will have its own cam and custom exhaust manifold

Out of curiosity, why not adapt the 2.0 to NA? Is there a reason you are going with the 1.8 stroker instead of the 2.0 stroker?

Class sizing, you have to run a restricter plate if you are over 1800cc
