You could go with the NASCAR sponsorship scheme. With a large enough hood decal and some on the front bumper you would not have to worry about rock chips or swirls....
But, in a bonehead move, did something careless while I was fabbing them up and got lots of little scratches on them... what's the best way to polish little scratches (almost swirl-like) out of mirror-polished stainless steel?

Give Never Dull wading polish a try. I use it on Chrome, works great. You may want to try a test on an area you can't see.
Thanks Mark! Glad you had a good day hanging lights!
I looked a Nevr-Dull's website - looks like a great cleaner / tarnish remover - but I'm gonna need something abrasive - maybe some kind of rouge and a buffing wheel or ?
I think I may actually have a little container of rouge in my shop - might try it with the Dremel buffer and see what happens. Again, testing on a hidden area first.
I'm still not convinced that stuff is as aggressive as what I'll need... have you actually used it to buff out scratches in stainless? It's one thing to remove "stains, water spots or blemishes"... or "minor scratches from paintwork" - it's another to actually get scratches out of stainless steel... it's hard stuff...
I used it on my chrome tip to get the discoloring off and it worked really well. As for scratches, yeah it may not be abrasive enough. You could probably use it as the last step to remove the haze from your make-up, oops I mean rouge.
