Must be winter, quiet here
I have a question for you fellow OCD'ers. First of all both our MINI's are daily drivers. I haven't been able to wash them for at least 2 weeks
so they are pretty gunked up. Got a window today where its going to be about 43 degrees, but as soon as Tuesday we are going to get bad weather again. To wash or not to wash? My feeling is do it so I can at least get a layer of Hydro on again before the next bad weather but it sure is morale killing to know all the hard work is going to go bye bye so soon! Or should I just wait another week and hope for better weather cause at 43 degrees I'm going to freeze my butt off!

clean, it's about preventing further damage to the paint and the rest of
the car from corrosion.

my car is all gunked up this morning from the morning drive.

no rain/snow, just wet roads.
was clean yesteryday...
I agree with Ken on this, wash your MINI. Knowing it is clean, if only for a day off-sets the feeling of what it looks like the next day in the crappy weather.
Oh, and when friends, neighbors, loved ones look at you odd while you are washing your car even with known impending bad weather, just smile, and wander off mumbling, Hydro, Hydro, Hydro

One MINI down, off to do the second now

Lois went to Target and got a jug of the Turtle wax Ice car wash, so I'm going to give that a try on Poco. Will report after I'm done. Gotta love a wife who nows your OCD needs

I've got a short window with temps in the 50s today. The interior seriously needs some attention too, so I might just hit the touchless wash, and then spend the rest of the afternoon vacuuming and 303ing the dash and whatnots.
The last time I went through the touchless it's dryer didn't exactly get the car, well, dry. On a scale of 1 to Bad Idea City, USA could I just Hydro it afterwards and dry it by hand in the parking lot, or am I just going to swirl the heck out of my paint?

Man was my MINI clean yesterday. I washed the company Expedition, our CR-V and the wife's Expedition. Saving the best for last I washed Matilda. I had four stunningly clean vehicles sitting in front of our house. Beaming with pride of a hard days work I sat and basked in the 70 degree temps and utter disdain from the neighbors.
This morning - 3 " of snow hiding my previous days efforts.
Well they were clean for like 12 hours. Spring-time in the Rockies, got to love it.

Yep, don't let the forecast keep you from washing the MINIs ! If you do that, you'll NEVER have a clean car. Or rarely, that is. After all, how many 5-day forecasts show NO chance of precipitation ?
I have three clean MINIs today. Good chance of rain here by mid-week. But it still feels GREAT to have clean cars for a few days !! And like Ken mentioned above, don't let any grime sit for too long and you'll have great looking paint for years ! At least I think that's what he said.

I don't buy that ken-ism... last year I clayed and polished our 7 year old 100K mile minivan with horrifically abused paint (usually nasty, often automated brush-washed) and it looked pretty darn good when done... if you let the dirt get thick enough, it protects the paint from Hummer dings and flying brick impacts.
I'm going to test that theory on our 5-year old SUV this Spring. If that paint comes out looking as good as the paint on the MINIs after claying and polishing, I'll buy you a beer at MOTD. I'm betting I'm not going to be buying the beer.
Who am I kidding, I'll buy you a beer regardless of how it comes out 'cause... well ****, I've waited a long time to meet you in person, Gauge Master !

I suspect collusion between DP & the ICA (International Cobbler Association).
Don't forget Heather's part in this whole scheme. After all, SHE is the one who put that peach scent in the Hydro in the first place.

Edit: Why go after the whole company (DP) when you can just focus on Heather ? She's surely the one to blame. Collusioner !!
