Ok... so someone is really messing with me. First... I received a beautiful plant at my front door today and I have no idea who it came from. Second... the description of the plant states that it is the FTD Pink Crush Orchid. I think I got some kind of begonia? I know quite a bit about plants but... what are your opinions? I am posting a pic of the plant and a pic of what's on the FTD site that someone paid A LOT of money for. Should I call FTD? I know they have a substitution policy but...









According to the FTD label and website this is what it SHOULD look like:

 

YOU BETTER CALL THE FLORIST!!! If I could make this font bigger, I would. Those look like astors or something, and I seriously doubt anybody authorized substitutions!!!!! (Was it really FTD? I don't usually like them very much and never use them knowingly.)

 

Update!

UHOH sent the beautiful Pink Crush Orchid! Girl, you are TOO SWEET!!(Apparently they didn't enclose the card so some guy named "Matt" read it to me. He says, "Ok... just pretend I am Sarah." LMFAO!)

Anyway, they are sending the CORRECT item. Can't wait to see it. Only thing UHOH... I told you that I can never keep orchids alive! I'm totally freakin' out!

Among other reasons, THIS is why I don't like FTD. Welcome kiddo! It's ok...don't fret about the orchid, just ask questions if you don't know how to work 'em (they're NOT hard.) And anyway, Ditch Diva already murdered the one I gave HER, so what's another? If it were one of my OWN collection, I'd have to strangle you...but it's not, so we're all good.

 

I think it's funny when you call me "kiddo" ... especially since I am older than you!

And BTW- you don't have to buy me anything... ever. Really, I love ya just the way you are! And I will say that THAT little troll was like one of the best things ever.

TNMM- I am 38 ... you've gotta give me those extra two years I've earned! It's funny, just the other day someone freaked out when I said I was going to be 38... she was convinced that I couldn't be more than 28. And no... she wasn't working for tips!

So I thought since I had found three sparkly hairs in the front that I was going to get a cool stripe in the front. But then I found one on the TOP of my head in the middle. (that's one we no longer speak of)

I worked on organizing my office today and then worked out in the pool for about 1.5 hours. Now I am in my bed with the lap top and some ice.

Happy Belated B-Day Ola...you won't see this 'til AM your time!! I was a bit confused, I knew the pic. I could see was some kind of Orchid, but can't see the Non-Orchid!!

Oh, I have some sad news from work today. Our Company Mascot Emma is not well, she has cancer and had had a stroke, the vet thinks anyway. So he's prescribed some pain meds. but other than that there really isn't anything else that can be done. I got down on my knees today and petted her, rubbed her tummy, and was rewarded with kisses. I just told her "Good Thoughts" and that everything will be ok. Her Mom & Dad are in FL so the Kids (Co. Co-owners) are taking turns caring for her. I'm not sure she's going to be coming back to the office even, so I did all I could to comfort her today.

 

Ola! Happy birthday! Sorry I'm late... the puppy monster has felt the need to become suicidal today. He starts puppy kindergarten tomorrow and I am SOO glad.

Just got the REAL orchid! It has one stem and 5 buds. Oh GOD I hope I don't kill it!!! Thanks again sweetie... it's beautiful! (And of course I LOVE pink!)

 

Ola. Cesar's techniques really work great on dogs that are problems to begin with. Mugen's not a problem really... he's just a rambunctious, intelligent puppy who is asking a LOT of questions.

His questions work like this: "What happens if I chew on your foot? Okay, Mom says no and gives me a nylabone to chew on instead and I don't get a cookie until I chew on the nylabone. Good, don't chew on mom's food, got it. What happens if I chew on Dad's foot? Hrm.. that's the same deal, that's no fun. What happens if I chew on the sparkly girl's foot? Oh! She shrieks and jumps around and wants to play a game with me! COOL! This is fun! I'll chew on her foot A LOT!"

RG- I used the "TSSSHHHHT" and other techniques with my friends new puppy when I watched him and they really helped. The next time he'd come over he'd be biting again and within that day we'd be all better. Of course puppies chew and all that so we don't want to take that fun away. I really like the whole idea of becoming the Alpha in the pack, calm submissive... but it's not for everyone (kinda' like crate training). I'm sure you know what you're doing... just trying to be helpful. I always remember Cesar saying that he didn't train dogs... he trained people. Certainly I needed help.

Cab- Where ya been?!?! Yeah, you missed my birthday!! I still love you anyway. (Actually I don't know for sure how UHOH got my birthday... ... classified intelligence?!? Probably that horoscope email that I sent back to her a long time ago. She's soooo sneaky. ) I don't know when anyone's birthday is. Maybe we can make a list? We don't have to put any year down.

I appreciate the help. You know all that knowledge I amassed about coffee? I pick anywhere between 1 to 3 things a year that I am going to learn absolutely everything that I can about. The first time I decided to do this, was with dog training. I know a lot about it, but IMO, you can never know everything. I'm happy to take ideas where they are offered and incorporate them because one thing I have learned for sure about dog training... is that no one thing works every single time with every single dog. It's almost exactly like raising a kid. You have to be on your toes and prepared to adjust your techniques if something isn't working.

And... btw... Mugen had his first day at Puppy Kindergarten last night. Rather than repost it in the three threads that I post Mugen stories on here and the dog forum and send an email to my mother (who thinks that I do not spoil her grandpuppy enough and that I need to spend more time detailing my car and less talking about my dog)... I wrote a blog post!

I'm in Massachusetts - until tomorrow night. I didn't get back to my hotel room (with a quick food pickup on the way) until after 9:30pm...it's been a long day full of talking, thinking, debating, arguing, etc. Boy are they getting their money's worth outta me! But my head is killing me. Gotta head to bed!

RG I always love reading your Blogs. You write so well, I seem to fall right into the story.

I've taught both my girl's a lot of different things, I use hand signals too. I think when Hubby's Boss (2 Shelties, 1 Jack Russel & Agility Guru) is impressed that the girls actually have a before meal ritual where they have to look at me and I have to say "OK" before they eat, I've done something right.

Though Sadie is a Wholly Terror on a Lead, she heals fine, but is a Wild Child when she sees other Dogs or people...you have to pet her if you are anywhere near her. Rosey on the other hand, heals fairly well, and is very timid around strangers, rubs up against Mom & Dad when nervous. Doesn't like to jump up into the back of the Durango when we have a Vet Visit either. But I've learned with Rosey that she doesn't need a lot of lead and can basically just jump in from where she's standing. Sadie I give plenty of Lead with the command of "UP" and she's IN!! Of course we're getting in the car and going for a ride...I think that's her motivation!!

You and Mugen with have tons of fun on your new training adventure, just take it easy and enjoy that New Bundle of Joy...he's wanting to learn from you and will give you all the L@VE in the world...just let him!!
