It was great! There were a whole bunch of different cars on Sunday for the Auto-X, it was great to watch and I got a ride with one of the leading MINI drivers in our area (actually he is the leading driver in the C class)......it was fast! I so wanted to try the course on Sunday after the fun I had with Hilla on Saturday...., but I made up my mind in advance not to enter and just watch and learn.

gem: I'm going to try to get Mugen signed up for puppy kindergarten tonight, just waiting for hubby to haul himself home so I can run down there and see about any open spots in the classes.

Oh and it's totally okay that you laughed. If I didn't laugh at myself when things like this happen to me, I'd go insane! :D

I got a hot fudge sundae and got the kids cookie jar blizzards then took hubby to the grocery to get some low fat soy ice cream weirdness that he likes.

Is it odd that I seem to get more work done when my boss isn't around?

I'm usually the opposite. When he goes home I take my time doing everything. LOL

Horses, Cab, I have horses! And goats... and pigs... and there are rivers nearby because I know how much Sarah LOVES to white water raft... in fact, I bet Hal & I can get her to go kayaking... so I got horse back riding, horse carriage driving, white water rafting, and kayaking... AND ALOE for all that burnt skin!

(d'ya think that would compete Gemmy??? We gotta get a hands up on Cab, so to speak!)

OK - I'll see your gourmet cook and raise y'all two racks of ribs, pulled pork, and some pork candy.

Does that help get X to Tennessee?

Cab: LOL! I'm actually not sure it has anything to do with requiring IQ, but more to do with patience. These dogs are smart, they are quick learners, but because they are smart, they spend the first two years testing their boundaries and asking their owner questions while you're doing obedience work. You really have to be patient and let them do it while being firm about your answers.

gem: The sundae was GOOOOD. I really needed it. We'll find out about Mugen and puppy classes tonight.

'Ola is having a health-off day today! Medical checks and all that. She'll be back by tonight or tomorrow.

Gem, you goof! If you visit, I'll bake you a chocolate chess pie! But it's CHESS not Cheese
Chess pies are very sweet but super good (not syrupy sweet, but it's hard to eat a lot of it).
Chess pies are a southern thang... One of the biggest compliments I ever got was when I made 6 lemon chess and 6 chocolate chess pies for a fundrasier where the main course was being provided by a very well known and respected Pit BBQ company. After it was all over the owner of the company asked me if my recipe was an old family recipe and if I'd like to bake for his company.... I laughed and blushed and thanked him profusely, but then asked whether his clients would be pleased to know that his southern chess pies were being made by a damned yankee!

(giggle)...

Maybe I'll make a couple for the Dragon next year....

When I trim ribs for smoking, on the bone side is a flap of meat, probably part of the diaphragm. This I trim off because it will cook faster than the rest of the ribs and will dry out. I take these trimmed off pieces and apply rub just like the ribs. After they are marinated and just before I place them in the smoker, i press into the meat turbinado sugar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbinado_sugar) until it won't retain any more.

Then I place in the coolest part of the smoker so they will cook slowly. As the sugar melts it caramelizes, but doesn't burn, creating it's own sauce.

If I don't have enough trimmings, I can use a pork loin cut into medallions.
