Thanks Cab, told hubby about your offer and he said that would be fun, I can hang and watch!!! When he went for his certificate it was snowing and very very cold. He would love to go again, but in warmer weather!

As for your concern about coming off as "judgemental"... I certainly didn't think so. I doubt that Gem felt like you were being that way to her either. We all know we've got nothing but love for each other! I don't have people over very often... but when I have in the past I have put my kitties in my room with the door closed and I sent my dog over to hang with "Grammie". Just for safety's sake and for everyone's concern. My Jackie is a very fun loving pooch and she is VERY frisky. She would also escape and be gone quickly... so just in case anyone accidentally opened the door without thinking... well, just a little less drama to deal with if something DID happen. Still sucky that everything went down as it did... with all the personal attacks and all. Not cool.
HEY GUYS, HELP ME OUT HERE..... WHAT AM I MISSING???
I'm a little behind on the readings here, but why would I think Cabby is being justmental??????
Cabby talk to me girl, where are you and if this is about the idiot kicking my dog - hey I told my freebies about the situation because I wanted YOU OPINION!!!

Please don't think I ever would get angry about someone's opinions! that's not my style, unless you kick my dog!!!

I think I was just commiserating by saying I learned long ago that things like that can happen and whether this couple are people who you value as friends or not isn't the main issue here, it's the unhappiness and insecurities that surface afterward. Meaning that here you are now feeling upset and insecure and all you wanted to do is to have a nice relaxing party. **hugs**
And if you think about it-- I am sure that the couple in question feel horrible too. It's just such a shame. Hang in there Gem and keep Thistle on her allergy meds!! And, yes, keep that couple off future invites!!

As for your husband, I am so sorry he is haivng such pain. I know 4 months of nerve pain is horrible, just hate to hear the word surgery tossed before trying acupuncture, massage and rehab. I would opt for the dreaded epidural injections first also!!
AAAAHHHH found it!! Now I know what you are talking about....sorry for not being up to day, my classes started again!
Cab no worries, i love you girl!

Oh and update on hubby, YOU ARE RIGHT!!! Tonight was the appointment with surgeon and yes put him on a mild pain killer, prescribed injection and physical theopy for the next four weeks.

My Hubby has bad knees, he's only 49 (50 in a few days), played way to many rough sports and ran to boot. Well he talked to his regular Dr. and he suggested the Synvisc Injection, he's had both knees done and though the last one done (left) is a bit sore still he says it really helped. He was unable to really do yard work, he was in so much pain afterwards. That's why we had hired the Landscapers, but since he's gotten both knees done he is much better. Hopefully we can eliminate the need for surgery for another 5 years.

RJ, sounds like my hubby will be on the same track. Glad your hubby is feeling better. I wish mine would be out of pain enough to sleep, poor guy hasn't slept a full night in months.

Hia Freebs. I've been doing some online work about old house rentals -- both to rent OURS out, and to rent someone else's at the new station. Wow. There's not much info out there, nor comparable data. SO...we're going to just keep trucking along with our plans. This past weekend was all about finishing up with demolition work so we could finally wrap up the dumpster rental (and BOY did I fill it!) But it really galls me to see what came out of those walls and ceilings. Some people really do NOT take care of the places they live!!! The things that were coming out of that ceiling were utterly disgusting. DIS-GUST-ING.

On a different note: I got a call yesterday afternoon that the Smith & Hawken potting bench I had lusted after (and finally bought at 40% off two weeks ago) had finally arrived. I happened to get out of work early-ish (it's good to be the boss when the boss is gone!) and headed up there. Of course I spent more money. And hubband met me up there for dinner - P.F. Changs ROCKS!!!

OK. Gotta get back to work. Have a great day Freebs! And keep memories of this date in your mind.

You wrote this and I have a picture of two snow seal pups right in front of me...
and now I have a mental image that is just too funny for words! Or barks!

my cough is still with me, but not to the extent yours is. It no longer hurts to cough, but it's still a productive cough... so I'm still drinking licorice tea (and am slightly hyper because of it). My chiro said the cough may stick around for up to 4 weeks... I'm not thrilled about that, but as long as it doesn't HURT anymore, I can live with it.

Hope you, uh, seal better

Yeah, I know your pain about re-doing ceilings. Our first house had the 12" square ceiling tiles that were discolored from previous roof leaks and were warped from age. After I took down a few with a raining down of roach poop, I decided not to take any more down. I just left them in place and put up dry wall sheets up to seal everything up.

Never heard of P.F. Changs; checked out their website and see there is one in Franklin, TN. May have to make trip up there sometime soon.

Hal, there's one in Cool Springs. I've never been- Hubband doesn't do Chinese food, but I do (if it's good... got burned out on really bad Chinese food)

X, this day always overwhelms me- and I'll never be able to watch Sesame Street again (I was turning it on for the babies and watched the 2nd plane plow into the 2nd tower). In fact, we've never watched day time tv again.

Too many people died... needlessly. I'm the same way about the Murrah Federal Building in OKC. So very very sad.
