Forgive me for not having read the entire thread. Are we supposed to be submitting our brew selections to you in advance like last year? Did I miss that?

I don't blame you as the thread is pretty long now.

I'm not making a list as detailed as last year. I would like to know simply what breweries you all plan to bring beer from. As soon as I get a report from the registrations in a week or so with your emails I'll be sending an email out asking what brewery you plan to bring beer from.

You are not locked in to what you tell me you are bringing. The point is simply to prevent a lot of overlap. Some overlap is actually a good thing but a lot isn't. PA and MI have lots of folks coming from those states so it'd be best if you didn't all bring the same beer.

When you tell me what brewery you are bringing I'll be putting it up on the website under the Beers tab. And when I see multiple people brining stuff from the same place I'll be putting you guys in touch with each other to sort it out.

Keep the questions coming.

Up to 91 people already. I'm wondering if we'll hit the halfway mark by the end of the day.

On the subject of chosing beers to bring, here's an idea...

Go to the Beer Advocate website and peruse through the top rated beers to get ideas. There are links below for top beers & top American beers

http://beeradvocate.com/top_beers

http://beeradvocate.com/top_beers?c_id=US

If I can make a request to the Michiganders, someone please bring some Founders from Grand Rapids & some Kuhnhenn from Warren, MI.

Three Floyds, Stone, Alesmith, Russian River, Bell's, Great Divide, New Glarus, Dogfish Head, etc. are all top choices.

Up to 105 now. 20 more and we're halfway full.

I've another useful link for those looking for beer to bring:

At 118 registrants we're at about what we were last year at the Swap. That's a good sign. I hope to see all the slots filled this year.

Its gonna be good times for all. We've scheduled it to last till 10pm which makes for 4 hours of beer goodness. Starting as early as we are will give people who want to attend the Drive-In the luxury of coming to the swap first to enjoy the festivities.

Those not doing the drive-in will have even more time to hang out and play some drinking games once the Beerlympics are over.

Edit: I wanted to let you all know that I have opened up orders for the Beerlympics T-Shirt. I had enough inquiries from people to make it worth while to add the buttons. You order from the same page as the regular Brew Swap Tee. Just scroll down to the bottom and you'll see a pic of the shirt and the order buttons. Questions? Just let me know.

Wow!

This may not impress some of you but wow, I was impressed. I thought last year's **** looked good but this year its even better. Here is a picture of the Custom Engraved Whalen Shifter that will be given away as a prize at the Brew Swap this year. If you've been thinking about a Whalen then this is the one for you.

.....As if the beer weren't reason enough to go to the BrewSwap!

Oh, and not that I have anything against him in any way, but I think Tuls should be excluded from the shift **** give-away this year. That just wouldn't be right for him to win twice. Hey, I'm just sayin'.

5 weeks left to order a shirt!

Hi all. Wanted to remind you all that you only have 5 weeks left to order a shirt. I know that sounds like a lot of time but if you're like me you tend to forget about things. Hell, I still haven't gotten my plane ticket for the Dragon yet.

It is unlikely that I will buy any extra shirts to sell at the Swap. So its either order them in the next 5 weeks or do without.

Registration is up to 138. Let's sell this bad boy out!

Hey all,

Thought I'd update you, I got another couple prize packs to give away yesterday. These come from the Capital Brewery. I'm happy to say that the Brewmaster from Capital is planning on joining us at MOTD and the Brew Swap. The packs consist of an XL shirt, a glass, magnets, coozie and a glove. Yeah I'm not sure what the glove is for yet but I plan to ask. Still, a nice couple packs to be given away.

I got the Whalen shifter in yesterday and man oh man, much better in person. This is one helluva conversation piece for your MINI let me tell you. Anyone who wants to see it in the flesh needs to track me down at MOTD. I might keep it on me until the Swap. And I'll definitely be moving around with it at the swap until the winner is drawn.

Registration is up to 146 people. That's not bad. I'd like to see us crack 200 by the end of March and sell out by MOTD. We shall see. Shirt sales are actually down compared to this time last year. I'm hoping you guys will mad rush me at the end.

I'll be emailing everyone who's given me their address when they signed up soon. I'll be asking you if you know the name of the beer you plan to bring. Not so much the individual styles as much as the Brewer, i.e. I plan to bring beer from the Capital Brewery. So start thinking about that. This info serves to help keep track of what beer is coming, to help fulfill requests and to prevent large overlaps.

See you all soon.

matt

I'm registered now. I'll be bringing a selection of Abita beers. How many should I bring?

I thought I had seen a list of attendees somewhere around here, but now I can't find it.

Well I can tell you that you should probably coordinate with Wildone3c and two other Louisianians who will be attending the swap.

I would suggest you try and get their Strawberry Lager in April. C'est ci bon.

The list of attendees is in the Event Planner at the NAM MOTD Central.

How much beer to bring? As much or as little as you like. My personal recommendation is 2 cases.

2 months to go

I can't believe there's only 2 months to go until the MOTD and the Brew Swap.

I've still got a bunch of prep work to do but all the important things are in place.

Where are my regulars who post on here? This thread has been too quiet lately.

Don't know who the "Regulars" are, but I think things will pick up once we start making arrangements for what we're bringing
And there'll also be a surge this weekend once registration starts
