Hey! Where are my fellow beer lovers? We've got a little less than 3 months till this event. Let's talk beer!

Who's bringing what from where?

Someone MUST bring some Stone beers from California.

Hey Matt,

I'll be back with my popular Canadian brews from last year... Sleeman Cream Ale, Rickard's Red and Creemore Creek Lager. Has registration opened up yet?

Registration should open up very soon. As soon as I can release the date I will. But keep an eye on here at the website in the next two weeks.

Glad to see Canada represented again this year. Be sure to flag me down at the swap this year so I can try them.

Put me down as bringing some Zima from Alabama

Seriously, we have no breweries exclusive to our state so if anybody has anything they want me to bring please let me know

Well, my plan is to try & weasel a local restaurant here into allowing me to fill a growler with their rare draught find of Belhaven Scottish Ale. Ever since I tried my first pint about 3 years ago, it has remained my favorite beer. I will most likely bring some Barrelhouse varieties craft brewed here in Cincy as well. I could also bring some Mackeson's Triple Stout (since it's contract brewed here in Cincy by the Boston Beer Co.) if anyone wants to try the classic milk stout.

I'm sure there are a bunch of you lucky bastages up in Michigan bringing a variety of Bell's (best damn beer in the region IMHO). If not, let me know because we can get it here in Cincy nowadays (Great Lakes is easy to find here too, but I think we probably have that covered as well).

Well, we've got one here in Huntsville. Olde Towne Brewing Co. It's alright stuff, but nothing to write home about. (I DID live in Germany for the last 11 years though, so I may be a bit biased )

Alabama has got to be the strangest state I've ever been in, alcohol-wise.

Well I was going to try to locate some of their beer to carry but if it's not all that good *sigh* I dunno what to do for beer from our region.

So I suppose Natty Ice is out too then, huh?

BoC -- if you're bringing GA brews, let's coordinate so we don't double up

As each of you register for the swap (once its open) I'll be contacting all of you to find out what you plan to bring. When I get that info I'll be putting it on the website under the 'Beers' tab. So be sure to check that page once registration opens to see what others are bringing.

I still suggest you continue the discussion here especially when it comes to requesting beers.

Casanewt, I have a quick question for ya:

Is Christian Moerlein still a good beer? I haven't had any in over 15 years, but I have fond memories. The guy that owned the pub I worked at in college used to bring down a few cases of the Oktoberfest from Cinci every year, for our private events.

Yessssssssssssssssssssss!

You'll need to see how many of their varieties you can bring. I haven't had the Double Bastard yet but boy do I want to.

I emailed them to see if they'd sell me one of their Arrogant Bastard banners at a discount and I'd hang it at the check in table. No word yet.

We don't really have any local beer but I figured out what I am bringing. The beer is pretty good & the bottles have really cool labels . I don't believe I have as ecclectic a beer tastes as most coming have but hopefully my beer will be enjoyed none-the-less. Now how much beer should we bring?

Ah, file this one under the "Asked a zillion times" category.

Bring as much as you want to share/take home. If your intent is to bring back or trade for a lot of beer then bring a lot of beer. Many of us brought 2 cases last year, some more, some less.

If you are just coming for the fun of it and don't care too much then just bring a small amount for people to sample.

I knew it had but I was lazy & didn't go thru all the pages. If you have it in the 1st post I was even lazier & didn't look there either.
Sorry

I will try and get to the Brewery in LA, if not I can get several different ones at BevMo.

CM is still around & it is a decent beer. I just saw it today, but no Oktoberfest. Check out the reviews on beeradvocate. I can bring some for ya if you want some!

I went to the best store here in Cincy for beer selection today http://www.junglejims.com/ . I'm pretty lucky because it's only about 5 miles from my work. I had not been there in quite a while & I was completely blown away by what they had. Bell's, Brooklyn, Left Hand, Founders, Sleeman, Harpoon, Alesmith, Bar Harbor, & yes Stone. I picked up sixes of Bell's Hopslam, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout & Bell's Expedition Stout. I also picked up a big bottle of Stone Smoked Porter. As I was trying to pull myself away from their beer selection, I noticed a couple of huge painted glass bottles on a top shelf. Stone Double Bastard! $69.99 for a huge a$$ bottle. Let me know if you need some Matt.
