One-touch windows when door is open?

I can't find an explanation of this in my owner's manual (unless I'm dumb and simply not seeing it), but after three months of having my CM I've figured out that one-touch windows do not work for the UP if its door is open. One-touch DOWN does work on an open door.

Is this something wrong that's unique to my vehicle?

It would be ever so convenient if one-touch UP worked on my open driver's door, as that's how I got used to exiting my old Passat for 10 years.

that is normal for the vehicle. I'm sure it could be reprogrammed. See the electrical sub forum for more information, including being able to roll up the windows by remote.

Yeah, I posted with the same question a few months ago, so don't feel bad. We thought there was something wrong with ours too. The speculation was that an open door might also mean fingers getting caught in a window that was automatically closing.

I've read that you can program it to work like you want with NCSExpert, but that's probably more trouble than it's worth.

BTDT -- and it works nicely. While you're there, program the key fob open and close, weather radio, one-touch sunroof open/close, and other cool stuff.

No, using the interior sunroof switch (as well as key fob close/open). One touch to raise, second touch to retract (no need to hold the toggle). Same for closing. However, I couldn't get the rain sensor to close the roof on the R60; this was working for other MINI models though...

I don't believe that's the default behavior. Seems that you need to tweak settings using NCSExpert for that to happen.

It definitely is not the default behavior! As you indicate, NCS Expert is the only way for you and me to make changes like that. And that's what I used. Setting it to "aktiv" had no affect.

I tweaked the setting as Theta indicated (with his caveat), but no dice. Really wasn't sure it would work on the R60 since a few other R5x settings changes that have been documented don't have hardware support in some of the newer R60 components (e.g.; alarm light "heartbeat", etc.).

However, the one-touch (actually two-touch) sunroof settings changes did work on the R60 as well as the key fob open/close (and the OP's "one touch windows with door open").
