Homestar Update...
Homestar was received at the terminal in Southampton as of 06/16/2006 at 05:41 local time! He will be on the LIBERTY Voyage # EB624-LIB departing 6/17 and arriving in Charleston, SC on 7/01
From there I'm not sure how long it will take to get through the VDC to Minnesota, but I would guess at least 10 days.

The people in New York are VERY lucky and usually get their MINI about 4-7 days earlier than the other East coasters...the West coast is another story!
I am picking my MINI up in Bloomington, Minnesota and I think it is going to be ready about the same time I will be in LA (July 10-12) for work
which means I won't be able to pick it up until I get back on July 13th.

Check with your dealer to find out which US port your MINI is discharged in!

ok, you guys are going to think I'm nuts. But here goes...
I have a trip planned for the West Coast at the end of August (12 days). Starting out in San Diego and driving up the coast to San Francisco. I currently rent Zip Cars (if you're not familiar, they are a short term car rental company located in some of the major cities) which I am partial to the Mini Cooper's. Yes, they actually have several Mini's to choose from. Convertibles included! Speaking of convertibles, that is exactly what I want to rent when we head to the West Coast.
Can anyone recommend a car rental company for the Mini convertible (picking up in San Diego dropping off in San Francisco)?
Also, I would love to hear suggeted routes from fellow West Coast Mini Motors!
Cheers. -m

This might be bit zealous, but I've just received my first Mini mod!
This will be the first thing I put on the car! Great quality! Now all I need is the car to put it on.
My next purchase before the car arrives will be the A/V system. I'm looking to get an aftermarket in-dash navigation system (Pioneer/Eclipse). Am I getting too excited here?

Yes. It's a grill badge. Made of heavy guage metal. I saw this on an all Black MCS and it was just killer. Can't wait to see it on the all silver. I'm also getting the Union Jack rear view mirror cover. Homage paid!
I'll be ordering the oem chrome exhaust tip, jcw mat (checkered of course) and possibly the alarm with stalk. I'm going back and forth between the oem alarm or an aftermarket. I'm looking into one of those clifford matrix, which page when alarm is going off.

According to WW, my car was just loaded onto the vessel today 6/17/06 @12:34pm. I thought the ship was set to sail 6/16/06. Ineither case, I'm glad to see I'm officially on a boat. When does the MANON ship set sail?
ok, so the ship has sailed according to the WW website. I looked up the ship name and it gave me the last reported position for the Manon, which was reported on 06/06/2006. I'm hoping they will update the ship tracking info.
Here's the link I checked...

Hi there,
I'm actually week 23 production, but I didn't get onto a ship until this weekend. I am on the Liberty. For those lucky week 24'ers who are also on the Liberty, the tracking site has been updated and we are out to sea!
