Simply georgeous Schreyerplace. Hyper Blue was first choice but then fell in love with the Space Blue when I saw it in the lot. Plus, my last car was a Blue Pearl WRX, almost the same color so I thought pick a different color. Please do post more pics.

Incredible shine on that baby!

Did you do the special wax job or is that the way it came?

Yeah, it's shiny and I wish I could say it was my handiwork. Instead it was detailed out by my dealer http://www.midwesternmini.com/

I've got a Zaino prep kit sitting here for me to begin with next weekend but I'm still gathering some other materials to begin my first full detailing job.

Anybody else have any news to report or any pictures to share?

That's great news! It shouldn't be long now. It took about 10 days from unloading to delivery in Columbus Ohio for me.

Nice motor Schreyerplace.

Have to say I really liked the bold colours like your blue and the red's but as it's my first mini I had to go with the classic White.

Not sure mine will ever manage a shine like you have though

Enjoy her...she's a beaut!

Have you tried to track the Cargo & Equipment Inquiries to see what stage the car is in at the VDC? http://www.port-of-charleston.com/on...go_inquiry.asp
I don't have my info with me today to try and I don't want to have to wait for the dealer to tell me if I can find out myself.

The waiting is getting on my nerves!!!

Thanks for your help!

ittybitty,
i hadnt heard of that til you mentioned it - thanks for the heads-up...

just tried it out (i'm the same way. if i can find out, there's no reason not to give it a shot, right?) but yeah... the tracking numbers (bill of lading, booking #, etc) from the WW site don't seem to be working there - am i missing something?

Pezmaster31,

I just tried it and it didn't work-maybe it's not updated? Anyway I called around and since the shipper is BMW, I can't get info at the port. I guess I'll have a couple of beers and try to think about something else for a change. This obsession isn't doing me any good. "A watched pot never boils" or something like that!!!!!! :impatient

Well.....I picked up my MINI this weekend.....a whole week earlier than I had expected! My husband and I went down on Friday and took in a Texas Rangers game and then picked up my MINI Saturday morning. It was beautiful! I thought I would share a picture.

Now I am thinking of doing a Zano wax job. I want to get stripes, but I don't know if I should wait to wax it and do the stripes first or go ahead and do the wax job. Any suggestions?

Wow! That looks great! I've got my Zaino package sitting here waiting for me to do my first detailing this weekend. I'm no expert but I would think that a good washing before the stripes and then Zaino the whole care would be your best bet.

More pictures...More pictures...More pictures!

Do you think they would have to strip the wax to adhere the stripes well? I don't really know how they go on.

I guess what I meant to say was wash with Dawn to remove all wax, apply stripes, then Zaino the whole car.

I have some boot stripes on order from Aesthetic Creations. My plan is to Dawn the whole car, apply the stripes (and let fully dry), and then begin the full Zaino treatment.

It's my understanding that the stripes are very sticky but you lay them down over a lightly soapy wash giving you a lubricant to move them around and into position. When you're happy with them you squeegee out any air bubbles and let dry. I've never done them before but I'm going off what I've read here on NAM.

OKCHILI,

Nice nice car! I am imagining my mini to look pretty much the same...

I'm going to add stripes too, but haven't ordered them yet.

My wife nixed the idea of a pirate flag on top but we plan to join the extreme checkerboard club....

Enjoy the open roads of Texas and the Oklahoma RED dirt!

Sir Mini

PS: Is that red a Sooner Red?
