[QUOTENICE Silver MINI, MadMike! Glad you're enjoying it! [/QUOTE]

Thanks. Already put 100 miles one her. Although most of you would think that's not much at all. Only 1300 more to go...

I posted in the MINI TALK about the problem we're having with getting our daughter's new MINI. We're in Week 24 and our MINI was in port June 28 and they said it was randomly selected to undergo a 2nd checkup.....and after many, many calls.......we have received no response from our dealer. I have even asked them for info. on financing and get no response. Must not want to sell the car too bad. Anybody else having problems from their dealership? I'm curious ...does your dealer add on a "Prep" fee and if so, how much?

That sounds very odd. My MA batted 0 on email correspondence but when I left him voice messages he was very responsive. Are you leaving messages for your MA specifically? I would ask to speak to the manager of the dealership or spend the time to go there in person if it's close.

My dealership has no 'prep' fee but they do charge a $550 Destination & Handling Fee.

Good luck on find out more info your daughter's Mini.

Anyone else here who bought their MINI from St. Louis have this $500.00 "Prep" fee?

We also have the $550.00 destination and handling charge. Have contacted the manager and the agent both. The manager just asks who the agent is and says he'll put us in touch with him. No return calls after leaving three in the past week. I went to the dealership a few days ago and the only info., again, was that it's on the east coast and no word when it will be here. Not sure what more can be done.

Coop and all,

Yes, still waitin' fer ye olde MINI, blimey, it's got me two-blocked here, but mays be there's fair weather ahead?

My delivery date has been "updated" on the owner's lounge to JULY 26!!!

Now I am getting a case of the jitters.... more rum!...

Actually went cruising the MINI-BMW lot today looking over the MINIs there,
thinking I might just see mine... Sure did see quite a few nice ones, used and new... but no Chili Red with the White Wheels...."Have you seen the White Wheels, matey?"

When it blows in, I'll be a lookin' over the rigging, looking for anything that could have kept the tot in the VDC for over 3 weeks...

Try the Service Side

Coop de Villain and Sir Mini...
My MCS too is held up at the West Coast VDC. I spoke with my motoring advisor who in turn spoke with the customer service manager. Seems my MCS has a scratch "0-1 inch in length" on the passenger door. This has caused my delivery date to be pushed to 7/31 (according to the Owners Lounge). This information was gathered by the service manager calling the VDC. This same plan might work for you too.

I have also for that calling MINI corporate does work wonders as well. I have found that MINIUSA is very receptive to consumer complaints about their dealerships. It gives them a stick to beat up the dealers with.

Coop, call your dealer, ask for the manager, tell him if he does not give you answers with you on the phone right there that your next call will be to MINIUSA to not only complain about their (lack of) service but also the userous $500.00 prep fee. This should solve your problems once and for all.

This afternoon will make one week. All I can say is... wow. I love this car!

Everyone's MINIs look really good, too. Great choices all around. Here's a few pics of my own for your viewing pleasure:

PS - thats my aunt in the car, not me... i'm in the blue shirt, trying not to look too nervous with someone else behind the wheel (even if it was just parked )

Happy motoring to all!

I'm about to see what a good cross-country road trip is like, MINI-style - moving to Boston on Friday.

I also got mine a week ago. Sorry, no pics yet. It rides soooooo much smoother than my 02, the gears shift so much easier too. I was afraid it wouldn't match up to the 02 but it is great! I'm so glad I ordered the piano seven dash-just smashing. If I had relied on the pics on miniusa, I wouldn't have ordered the dash-thanks to this site for good pictures. I was also surprised at the smoother ride with the Goodyear run-flats, they musta made improvements.

Thar She Blows!!!

My MINI has arrived!!!

It was easy to tell because of the white wheels, sorry for the blurry pictures... I checked by the BMW-MINI dealership this morning.... Still waiting for official word from my "advisor" about it's arrival.

Can you believe I had camera issues while trying to get the pictures? (all the sparkles freaked out the focus I guess) Had to make two trips as it was to get these....

Now I'm going on vacation tomorrow morning- have to be content with the photos for a few more days...

I'll be posting more after my dealer experience and purchase process...

Sir Mini

Another success story for week 24 group. After crossing the sea for what seems forever, Checker is home safe. It was about 1hr and 45mins drive from Sacramento to San Francisco, my jaw hurts a little bit, having to hold a grin that long but I think I will survive. I had to hold him back a little to keep him on the 70ish on the drive home to give him a nice break in. Niello of Sacramento was very courteous and I feel that I really received an excellent service. No hassle, no pushing, very smooth transaction. My MA, Wade Gardner, was excellent and I would recommend him for anyone looking to get a mini in the Bay Area. Here are some pictures I've taken at the dealership.

Well, I called the manager of the local MINI today and told him that we hadn't been getting any updates over the past month since its been in port or any returned calls (except 1). He didn't even comment on it. Supposedly he says they're expecting it on Sunday (nice of them to call!!). If we don't get it this weekend, we have to start reviewing other cars so we can shop for another car for our daughter for college. The extra $500 prep fee ....ain't going there.
And the saga continues............
Glad you all, for the most part, have had a good experience with it.

Congrats, Sir Mini! I love the CR/W (of course I am probably bias since mine is the same ). Let me know the secret to keeping those wheels white. I am having a hard time with mine.

Got mine on Thursday... no pics just yet. I did have the hood stripe and checkmate side grahics removed at the dealer. I think the car looks very cool with the silver hood scoop... I'll post pics as soon as I can get my wife's digital cam (she already thinks I am nuts, but she drives a 650iC)... 100 miles to date, 150+ on tap for Saturday including jaunt up and down Angeles Forrest/Crest... a great road for those who know the area...

Question to Checkers... have you noticed your car "tramlining"? That is the tires following the grooves cut into the road? My last MCS did not do this and I found it a bit disconcerting on the drive home..
