Finally!!!

My online status has FINALLY changed and now says that Penelope is at the VDC with an expected delivery date of 7/11. YAY!!! I may be motoring next weekend!

Swizzle - love the name. I had thought about that name if my MINI was a boy.

Funny you say that. I was looking for an English name, so went to an website online that had English boys names. I narrowed it down between Spencer and Tanner. Then I thought Tanner would have a great double meaning, because with it being a convertible, in the FL sun. So good call!

Nigel is a great name as well!

Sorry about the slow reply.. busy weekend. The screw on the right side gave me some frustration but not to bad. I used a piece of tape to hold the blue clip in place. That didn't work so well for me. I then stuck my finger up in between the shelf and the steering wheel to hold the clip. That did it. I did think I was going to have to remove the screw to get my finger out but with a little pain I removed my finger and the screw was still in place.

Woo hoo, gratz Hyper! That's nearly a clone of the MINI I agonized over when choosing which one I wanted. Man that's one good looking car.

My MA was super, he sensed my excitement & he was grinning along with me. I'll make sure to update our received list tomorrow too, I'm not thinking too clearly right now!
Can you imagine that kind of experience with nearly any other car? Gratz! looking forward to pics.

Here's a few photos. Hope I did it right I have to say I LOVE the color. Kind of like a shiny navy. So much prettier in real life than photos or miniusa.

No worries, much rather we were all out motoring than in here. I finally bit the bullet and went in to do the rest of my mods. Got the shelf in but not screwed in. Gonna try the tape method and see what happens.

Also put the rear bumper protection on and it fits surprisingly well though it's not 'perfect' once you get it wedged up to the rear flange it looks really good. That dishwashing soap/water thing is really the key though, took almost ten minutes of finangling to get it in just the position I wanted then I spent five minutes just going over it with that hard plastic piece to make sure there were no bubbbles. I took a couple pics of it if you want to see for a final check.

I gave up on the Aux. port for now. Not sure how I'm gonna get my hands back there to plug it in. Something to possibly work on for next weekend.

Oops...the photos do look like the wheels are white, but they are actually silver. I'm lovin it!
I think I'm going to add silver stripes. The straight ones, not the viper, just to be different than the other silver roof group

Nice . . . that will look great. Sorry, when I first looked at the pics I thought both the roof and wheels were white - guess I should have looked at your sig! My MA has the same color combo that you have and his car is gorgeous. Silver stripes would look really really good.

I have about 2 days worth of dealer stuff - tint, clear bra, stripes and running lights. But I really hope I'll have her by next weekend. Did you hear from your MA yesterday???

SO glad to hear you've finally got a date after all that agonizing over the 'missing MINI'. See, good things really DO come to those who wait!

Jayne, that's a be-oo-tiful color combo, and I love your plans to add a silver stripe - that will look GREAT! After I've had mine for a while I'll probably have the factory stripes removed and switch to the wide-down-the-middle pair of stripes too. Love that look, and always like to be a little different!

Tonight I hope to go to my first DMC (AZ's MINI club) event, even tho I don't yet have Scootr... an ice cream night sounds like fun. Just need to get the hubby on board, and I'm already more than halfway there with that job!

Happy Motoring all!!!

Hey cooperminis, let me know your secrets for talking your hubby into the club event. I keep mentioning this sort of thing to mine, and he just kind of looks at me like !

I'm going with the sports stripes down the center. I think they look really cool. I might get an aero grill too. Geez, I never would have thought I'd be on a message board chatting about modifications to my CAR!!!!

I have not heard from my MA, I emailed her Friday and have not got a response.
I am finacing through my credit union and because I want to purchase the extended warranty through my credit union I have to have them do the paperwork, not the dealership. I don't think that this makes my MA too happy especially since the don't make the rediculous profit on their inflated extended warranty prices.....

Here is what the dealer wanted to charge:

HERE ARE THE PRICES FOR THE DIFFERENT TERMS AND MILEAGE.
5YR OR 75000 MILES $1720.00
6YR OR 72000 MILES $1947.00
7YR OR 75000 MILES $2167.00
6YR OR 100000 MILES $2670.00
7YR OR 100000 MILES $3408.00
THESE ARE 0 DEDUCTIBLE FOR WORK PERFORMED HERE AND $50.00 IF DONE ELSEWHERE

wow, that is scary! I just can't think it's worth it to pay that kind of money for the extended warranties. Geez. Can you call your MA on the phone? Mine doesn't usually respond to emails, but is pretty good on the phone. I hope he doesn't get snarky when he finds out I'm financing elsewhere as well, and don't want ANY of the extended warranties, undercoating, etc etc etc.

Yeah, can you believe that the dealer wants that much for a warranty! I could not believe those prices...thats just an extended warranty not including any maintenance for that time. What a joke. My credit union has extended warranties for less than half the price and it has no deductible. I am also going to purchase gap insurance through the credit union.

Ouch....I did all the financing thru my CU & the only figure I can remember the MINI guy telling me about was the 2 xtra years for appx 1300..saying something about 1000 dollars off at this time. I still didn't get it. It was tempting tho.
