Mini Cooper R53 auto Transmission Problem

Hi,
been reading through the forum but didn’t find similar issue. My transmission start acting up, 1 and 2 gear really rough, looks like car doesn’t know when it should shift. Sometimes stuck on 3rd gear.

I don’t think is common issue of solenoids or valve body, replace solenoids 20k ago and was shifting fine after.

what is very odd is when I connect INPA to the car I’m not able to communicate to transmission module anymore like I did before.

maybe I have a bad connection or a bad module?

where should I look for wiring?

Module plugs!

Found the module over foot pedals and for my surprise the plugs look like that. Is it normal? Wondering where that residue is coming from.

Yes, looks like brake fluid or oil from above dripped on it. Check the lines under the dash and footwell.

clean everything and now the transmission module is connecting to INPA. I guess is working.

will drain the fluid and refill it and try to go over learning procedure again.

do you know how to properly check fluid level?

Hello,

Its the fluid coming from somewhere else, did you find out where its coming from? You got a leak somewhere.

Its leaking on the unit near the harness.

Ok, yep my guess is the cap at the reservoir, connection point #5 or one of the lines? If its the lines it might not be tight on the master cylinder
