New Mini, New Experiences

Hi all!

Gosh, it's so cool to be part of the club. I've always wanted a Mini, and always thought them to be some of the niftiest cars around. The dream finally came true back in December of 2022. I'm now the very proud owner of a 23 MCS and I'm HOOKED. It's every bit the dream that I thought it would be.

So something cool about me that I'd like to share: back around the end of April, I participated in my very first autocross event. Holy mess, folks, talk about an adreline rush. When Hubs and I first talked about ordering the car, I wasn't eactly sure if I wanted to track it or not, since all I've ever done is ride along with him. I figured it was worth a shot and so he pretty much tossed me in the pool and told me to swim. Boy, I'm so glad I did it because it was one of the most amazing things I've ever done. After that one-day experience, I knew I definitely wanted to try a track day event.

On Mother's Day weekend, I participated in a two-day high performance driving event at my local track. Cheese and crackers, y'all, I can't say enough about how totally awesome it was. This was honestly one of the best Mother's Day gifts ever. Don't get me wrong, I was nervous as all get out those first couple of laps, but it was so cool to get to meet and make friends with so many different people and I learned so many things. It definitely won't be my last. I could make a completely different post about that experience, so I'll end that talk here and hop back on the right tracks.

I'm super excited to be here and say hi to everyone. I honestly know little-to-nothing about cars, especially the nittygritty things, but that's part of why I'm here. I want to learn all I can, be a part of this awesome community, and hopefully make some friends along the way.

Anyway, thanks for sticking with me this long if you've gotten to this point!
Here's one of my favorite pictures from the HPDE over Mother's Day weekend
Hope everyone's having the best day possible!!

That color really stands out and is more of a Highlighter yellow then the older interchange and Mellow Yelllow of the past.

Thank you! I have a DCT. It just so happened to be the only option available when I ordered the car.

Tracking, and the color, have both been loads of fun so far! The photo guy at this event said he loved the color because it made it way easy getting my bundle together

Some days, depending on weather, it looks Lime yellow (what I'd describe as Interchange with a hint of lime, especially in person) and other days it looks straight up Highlighter yellow. I'm loving it so far. Definitely not something you see everyday!
