Greetings from Long Island!

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on the forums for almost a year, so I figured it's time to actually introduce myself. These forums have helped me understand and diagnose issues I've come across, so it's only fair, right? I bought my '07 R56 S in March 2015 and I love her so much! She's got 42,000-ish miles on her.

I'm facing a few common issues with Coopers of this vintage. In no particular order:

-Timing chain and tensioner, and that's already been fixed once less than a year ago
-Leaking turbo oil lines
-Sunroof all kinds of jammed up
-Excess turbo heat warping my hood scoop

Anyway, that's a little introduction to me and my baby! Happy motoring!

Welcome to NAM! Wow! Some low miles and she looks to be in very good condition. Are you the second owner? Really loving the chrome mirror caps as they go well with your color combination. I see you have the grille rally lights, very nice.

For the hood scoop warping, I'd highly recommend installing the Hood Scoop Heat Shield HERE. It'll help with that issue. Let me know if you have any questions or ever need anything.

Yeah other than the issues I mentioned she's in great condition. I'm the second owner and he really babied the car. I love the chrome and the rally lights too!

Thank you very much for the resources. The timing chain and tensioner was replaced by BMW at a dealer as a recall. I was going to order that exact oil line kit from ECS Tuning today as a matter of fact. As for the sunroof, I have no idea what's wrong. I believe it might be a combination of the motor and bent rails. And as for the heat shield, that's also on my list of purchases (as well as a new scoop ).

You are welcome. Thanks forthe order If you ever need anything I am always here.

Get the chrome Genuine MINI scoop , if holds up the best on heat , as well as the Carbon fiber one. If you go with the primed version , make sure you get the heat shield and the insulation.

The timing chain will be under the 2 year unlimited miles from MINI warranty, have them check it out for slack issues. They can measure it.

On the sunroof its can be the motor or rails.

clean and grease first , if you can reach it
