Sunroof slidders misaligned
Sunroof glass crooked
I just purchased a 28 MINI for my daughter, brought it home and started giving it a good inspection. I was cleaning and lubricating the tracks this afternoon and noticed issue, broken part on the drivers side.
Bottom line up front, I tried to close the sunroof, heard some pops, obviously a gear teeth slipping, I've wound up with the front glass panel sitting crooked and it won't move anymore. I removed the glass from the frame and can see that left and right bracket are uneven by about a inch.
At this point I'm really stuck, I just want to get the glass down and secure but I can't because the mechanism moving the glass caused the two guides to become in equal.
Is there any way to realigned this stuff? Need help
Dave

Just looked...nada, but what a great link, saving that one. I hope it's not a component of the sunroof cassette, if so I'm hosed.
I've been able to determine what it does, it's attached to a rod that raises the rear portion of the #2 sunroof.
Spent the morning messing with it, moves smoothly along the complete distance of the track but it can't close w/o grinding gears, left side slips and that cants the glass. Tried manually doing it and the gears still slip. I tore it apart enough to get my hand in there and feel if the motor is loose, it's not.
I'm hosed. I think I'm dealer bound.

Not many single parts for the R56+ Gen 2 MINI sunroof. Just the main cassette which has the cables and mechanical slides. 54102758294 . Roller blinds and some other hardware,. Looks like the part that connects to the cable section broke. Only thing you could be is epoxy the old part, get one from a used MINI ( wrecked) , or get the new main cassette.
