I am too old to be the new guy

I never know what to say here, so allow me to ramble.

I own 2 1934 Singer's, one is under restoration right now and the other is waiting its turn. The one I am working is getting a 1098 Spridget motor/gearbox as the original motor is toast. Soon to be Son-in-law owns a 1960 Mini with unknown upgrades done by previous owners, a 1275, front disc's, suspension upgrades, electrical shorts...sorry upgrades and not sure what else yet. Car lives at my house and that is ok with me

The mini is amazingly rust free, its not really rust free but its minimal rust, nothing I can't fix. And that will be a father/son(in-law but that is a detail) project to restore the car, right now its a driver but maybe this summer we will strip it and go through it, no promises.

As someone here used to say: "Without pictures, it didn't happen."
Even some of the Singer would be welcome...(hope it's the roadster!!)

Hey, this is a Mini site not a Singer site so I didnt post pics.

This web page is WAY OUT of date, mini motor is in the chassis and I am working on the wood for the body but you get the idea. I really should update this page, its well over a year out of date.

http://ayw709.rambour.com/

The other Singer waiting its turn is

http://us8155.rambour.com/

I don't have pics of the mini, but I can take some tonight, but I assume you all have seen a mini before.

And thanks for the welcome

Makes me think of the 51 MG TD that sits down at my moms. My Grandfather did a frame-off resto back in the early 70's (very well ducumented) He loved that car. And he meticulously documented everything he ever did to that car. I take it out now n then for a spin.

Thanks for sharing!! Good stuff!

Share the mini pics if ya get them. But yea the Singer(s) is very nice!

Take care,

Sean

Great pictures of your Singers... they do look a little like an MG of that era, but not quite. Yes, we have all seen Minis before, but always like to see our friend's Minis! Plus most of us are Miniacs of the first order, and no cure has been found for that, so post up a picture or two or three... or more. Won't bother any of us a bit.

Welcome to the Mini forum!

Yes, welcome! I'd love to get a classic Mini.

Here is our company car. The MG that's reminiscent of your Singer.

Nice car! Also, nice Wassily chair. Is it an original or reproduction?

We know the Green Mini's not a repro: it has the brick-behind-the-back-wheel mark of authenticity.

Great cars! Welcome.

Looks great actually! Looking forward to seeing what you and your son in law do to restore it.
