Maersk Wind is supposed to arrive at Port Hueneme (Oxnard, CA) on Sept 7, I think [knock on wood]. Add a week or so at the VDC, plus transport, dealer prep, etc. and we are looking at mid to late Sept for us west coasters to start motoring. This is, of course, not accounting any effect from Gustav.

Congrats Tu13es!!! I am sure it's AWESOME!!

I was hoping that my MA would have called today to firm delivery up.. but no. I WILL call him in tomorrow afternoon if I don't hear from him in the morning!

I need to clean out my 4Runner - so that when we go to pick my MINI up - it will be ready for hubby to trade!! Hopefully - they have something on the lot that will appeal to him (he is not as picky as I am)

North Ogden Utah, about 45 miles north of Salt Lake City
Dealership is Mini of Murray, just south of Salt Lake City, affectionately known as MOM
I believe even Colorado Minis debark at Port Hueneme

Whew, just read the manual (well, the good parts) and spent a while getting all my settings the way I want.

On my trips to and from the car I've found myself just staring at it. Hah. It's still surprisingly small. And I absolutely *love* the laser blue. So happy with that color choice.

Sorry no pics yet, no time (I won't settle for hasty pics of an undetailed car :P ). I'll be running around all weekend so will probably spend Tuesday evening detailing and pic-taking.

Looking forward to the commute tomorrow.

Ah Ha, new position on the Maersk Wind
N 22°54', W 086°36'
That puts her approximately 120 miles from the Yucatan Channel.
Renewed hope for the West Coasters, should clear Gustav, but it was close.
Tu13es, jealous I am . . . maybe I'll break out the .pdf Owners manual this pm and have it go. . . . can't wait for the pics!

Looks like it was a busy day in Week 32 land. People driving their new baby while others continue the boat and train watch. We are getting closer. I am excited to see the group wants to continue this thread. What a great resource why would we just use it for tracking vehicles. There are so many other topics to share and discuss (free pics, first 1200 miles, first pet peeves, etc.) Let's keep it going. Week 23 look out

Picked up today, as well. Then spent three hours motoring around with my wife... It is so cool. I just love it...

I'll get you some pics soon... I was all prepared yesterday, but then that fiasco with the plates happened. Today, I didn't have my digital camera with me.

A couple of unexpected things:
-All of the storage nets that came standard.
-The mood lighting.
-ASC traction control (I had no idea this was standard).
-Parking lights in place of the front fogs (I didn't order either front or rear fogs, and was expecting blacked-out circles where the fogs would be. There are lights there, but they are simply parking lights and look very nice).

Ditto on these. I'm not sure if I want to drive around during the day with my headlights on, or just the parking lights and foglights. Hmm....

Also got a full tank of gas. Yay!

I'm taking Luigi on a (MINI) road trip to PA today... about 250 miles to my new apartment. Can't wait! Once I get there I will hook up the camera and post pictures ASAP!

I agree, Calamante... I wasn't expecting the netting or mood lighting either! I can't decide on which color I like best. Now only if it went to green to go with the exterior color! Right now I'm loving the blue.
