Also, please do let us know what freebies you get as 'gifts' when you pick up your vehicle (if any) e.g. stuffed bulldogs, keychains, pens, pencils, mints, dental floss, etc. anything so we can harass our MA's for freebies, too, when we pick up!!

 

Picked up our clubman today and it ROCKS! I really do enjoy it much more than our previous MCS. Just as an FYI, our dealer wanted $888 for the tire/wheel insurance and $399 for the PDR insurance. Our MA did give us free carpeted floor mats, 2 wire keychains and MINI mints.(Not sure if that was a hint) : ) They look cool!

I think that many of us are getting the rush this weekend so that the dealers can get the cars on the books for August. I've still got my fingers crossed that transport will get my Clubbie here Thurs PM so that I can pick it up on Sat.

You're right about this thread.... maybe we should retitle this one Week 32 2008 so that we can keep up with everyone. I span weeks 31 and 32 and I think that week 31 has only 4 pages of posts.

My MA has been uncooperative or should i say uncommunicative with me. Doesnt return email... left msg on his phone.. doesnt call back... and when i finally talk to him.. he sounds like he doesnt want to talk to me. I wish i ordered from someone different. I wont say who or which dealer... maybe HE is having PMS or his girl/wife is making him miserable.

 

sorry to hear about your MA - it would make it less painful if he threw you a bone or two of info or at least seemed empathetic to your situation. At least mine is nice when I pester him . Ok, I really ought to catch some zzz's now. Signing off ... for now.

Doc, sorry to hear about your experience with your MA. I don't think they all have the same level of experience or interest. Some could just as well be selling a kitchen appliance. Try to cheer up,and I wouldn't worry about that storm, your ship is way ahead of it's path.

 

So, two weeks ago tomorrow I had someone who saw my current car's ad on Craigslist come check out the car. He gave it a very thorough inspection and test drive and was very impressed. That was on a Friday. He said he really likes the car and I should expect a phone call Monday or Tuesday to discuss pricing. I never heard back.

Until this morning!! He emailed to say his current lease expires on Friday (tomorrow) and that he's willing to purchase the car if he can do so soon and for a little less than I'd listed it for. I'm fine with it, as his offer is slightly above what I was originally going to list it at anyway!

So, if all goes well it should work out nicely. I was worried about having to register my MINI with new plates ($$$$$$) but I'll be able to transfer the ones from the old car!

Woohoo! And I'm picking up the MINI this afternoon! Best day ever!!!!!!

OL has finally been updated for me and now it says "At the VDC". It also says that the expected delivery date is 8/31... For those that are starting to pick up their cars now or are scheduled to pick it up soon how accurate was the OL delivery date? ..... That's way better than the original mid september delivery i was expecting

 

Check a few posts or pages ago for my OL process. I think it was a few days early on the estimated delivery.

 

Hey everyone we're back from our Road Trip to Maryland to visit my brother. We took our new 2008 Corvette and it was great, especially on I-79 and I-68 in West Virginia and Western Maryland.

We told everyone about the new MCS and the family wants to know everything about it when it gets here. Speaking of getting here - while we were away, our MA e-mailed to tell us it should be arriving in St Louis sometime next week. Hope she's right...

I just read where the Caribbean Highway is unloading today. We get the VDC installed driving lamps and she'll be ready to ship to St Louis. Should be arriving with RaceTrippers JCW.

Thinking about her name for when she arrives.

Nope we won't forget about all of you West Coasters who are still sailing the high seas. Your Minis took the extended cruise so they could relax and work on their tans.

I'm still trying to decide about warranties... so much of it depends on how long I'll be keeping the car. In the past I usually put about 25K a year on Suburbans, but I should be driving the Mini a lot less. Decisions, decisions!
