I got the call ... woohoo!
My MA just called, my MINI is here! They were just unloading the truck when he called. They are unfortunately too busy with prior deliveries to get it done today, but am scheduled to pick up at 10:30am tomorrow! Then headed out for a little weekend getaway with the family .. am going to stop by after work to get a first look, and will get some pictures soon!
To all you still waiting, your day is coming soon, hang in there!

I got my car today! Its wonderful! The process could not have been easier. Everyone at the dealership was so nice. Even MA's that weren't working w/ me came over to say hi and thanks.
It hasn't rained in weeks here and of course, today it pours. I had to drive back in a downpour w/ tons of traffic. At least now I know how to work the windshield wipers.

Just spoke to MA.
My car was on the Carribean Highway.
He is saying that it will get to South Carolina today, and we can expect delivery around the 9/10.
does that sound correct??
I was hoping that we could get the car next week.
OL still says "En Route"

WhiteLighting - forget the OL, it's very inaccurate. My MINI arrived last night to the dealer, but the OL says it is scheduled to arrive 8/30. Your MA is probably giving you a 'safe' date.. are you getting things installed at the VDC or the dealers? If so - that can delay things, but if your not - I bet you'll have your car by the end of next week!!
Bemmer, well I am sure the kids had a hard time saying good bye to each other, but glad we're both getting our babies!!! I wasn't expecting mine this soon either - so what a great surprise!!! I'll be up early and be heading to my dealers in the morning!! wooohooo!!!!

woohoo - CONGRATS!!! Glad to hear it was painless!!
I just polished and emptied out my 4Runner - and hoping that my hubby will trade her in!! He told me to 'stop pushing' so I need to keep my mouth shut!

Omaha is in the house!!! Twieland and Chugiagirl - I'm so jealous.
I called my MA and my baby is still at the VDC (which I already figured, but you know...doesn't hurt to try), so no MINI for me this weekend, but he thought Wednesday or Thursday.
One more week of waiting, I'm not sure I can do it. Having a long weekend gives me way too much time to think about getting it - I better find a project to keep my mind busy. Good thing College Football starts
Congrats to all the new owners - may the sun shine and the gravel stay away from your new family addition.

Mine came in today, and the only way I knew is because you told me that yours was in! I called and talked to the manager and he said that yes, it was in but I'd have to wait for a call to let me know when I could pick it up. I'm still waiting for the call! I hope it will be tomorrow!!! If it's not tomorrow, it won't be until Tuesday. That would be sad.

Yaaaaaahoooooooooooooo!
Only 21 hours to go and I'll be motoring! I finally talked to the dealer and my window tinting and mudflaps are on. They're putting on my checkered mirrors tomorrow morning and I'll be good to go! Finally...it's all coming together. Congratz to everyone else picking up this weekend! And for those who aren't, it won't be long...I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you all!
Prepurchase Checklist -orig poster MSH411-
Read this in another forum and thought I should post it here. Since we are all starting to pick up our Coopers.
-Do you have cosmoline dripping down the side panels?
-Excessive heat in drivers side foot well?
-Weeepy washers?
-All options present? Go down your build sheet line-by-line.
-Dealer programmed accessories. Are the windows, turn signals, radio, and other programmable features working the way you want? Check now, it's free. The dealer may charge a service fee later for re-programming.
-Uneven panel gaps? Run your finger along the different panel seams. hood, doors, boot and bonnet. If you feel (or see) the gap "pinch" together, ask them to fix it.
-Windows, trim and seals. No cracks or dings in the glass. All seals appear smooth and even? No budges or gaps that might suggest a future leak?
-All panels securely attached? Everything appear solid at the edges? Black plastic fenders, too? Grab 'em. Give 'em a wiggle. Rear spoiler, too?
-Bonnet, boot and doors. Do they all open and close in a uniform manner? Latchs secure? Levers and handles feel solid? No notcheyness, snags or strangeness? Everything appear to seal up tight? Listen for wind-noise during your test-drive, too.
-Is the bonnet making contact with the line running near the turbo? See here for pics: http://motoringfile.com/2007/02/22/p...nnet/#comments
If so, ask for it to be relocated, or a rubber "bumper" strip to be attached for some additional protection in that area.
-Even paint coverage and color? Make sure to look in a well lit area. Outside, if possible.
-Dents, dings, scratches or scrapes in the surface suffered during shipping (rare, but happens)?
-Fit and finish of interor. Look for stitching issues in the seats. Even/uniform carpeting coverage. Headliner, too. Scrapes or scratches on the side panels, dash or color line.
-Steering wheel & Column. Does it tilt and telescope as designed? No strange noises going lock-to-lock?
-Windows go up & down? Smooth consistant motor speed?
-Full sunroof operation (if applicable)? Tips both panes and fully retracts.
-Check the fit and function of all the control **** and switches. Check 'em one-by-one. Stereo, too. Don't be afraid to play it LOUD at the dealer. Use the radio. Used the CD player. AUX-in port, too. Make sure it all works. As well as the fit of the speakers in the doors and dash. This includes your remote key, too.
-Interior lighting. Changing colors as designed. All other door sill, footwell and reading lights working (wherever they may be)?
-Air conditioning blowing cold and all climate controls working as intended? Check it if you've got it.
-All lighting equipment operational? Lights, blinkers, etc... headlights aimed properly.
-All fluids present and topped off? Sounds silly, but... I never assume.
-Tires. Check tire pressure and double-check they are mounted in the proper direction. There are little arrows on the side that show which way they should be rotating. Improperly mounted and inflated tires can effect somthing as simple as gas milage... or cause somthing as bad as a firey crash (a mild exaggeration if you look at the big Firestone/Bridgestone fiasco a few years back). This is particularly important with runflat tires, since it is not likely that you will notice the feel of an underinflated tire.
-Paint & Finish - go over the entire exterior paint with your hand to identify the smoothness of the finish, there have apparently been damaged/repaired areas during transport that are not the same as manufactured quality.
-Rear headliner - is it firmly attached to the interior roof above the rear passenger windows.
- Car jack and wrench - they should be identified as 5DD on the Vehicle Inquiry Report.
- Clear plastic paint-rub circles for the bonnet and hood intact? They are located where the rubber "stand-offs" meet the painted bodywork, to eliminate paint damage.
Then go for a test drive:
-Rattles or squeeks? all cars have 'em... but any that concern you, bring up to the dealer.
-Transmission noise and function. Upshifts and downshifts well? Any noises out of the ordinary tranny whine (particularly downshifting from 3rd to 2nd)?
-Engine noise and function. Does it sound smooth? No misses, pops, surges or stumbles?
-All gauges appear to be working as intended? No bouncing speedo or burnt out LEDs in the display screens (very rare, but it happens)?
- Cruise control - Operate as normal, not inadvertently cut-off during operation.
- Does the VIN number on the vehicle match that listed in your purchase paperwork?
-Do you have cosmoline dripping down the side panels?
-Excessive heat in drivers side foot well?
-Weeepy washers?
-All options present? Go down your build sheet line-by-line.

Great list - Thanks. I'm sure in the excitement of finally getting our new MINIs all the things on this list get overlooked by us eager buyers. This list should at least keep us grounded a little bit. Better to sort things out now rather than argue with dealers a month or two later over something not quite right.

I got to touch it!!!!!!! It was getting ready for a bath and tint....will be in my driveway tomorrow night!!!!! We were going to pay for it tonight but we are debating the extended warranty....is anyone else getting it? $2188 for 7years 75000miles includes tires and rims and the rest.

Congrats!!!!!
Less than 13 hours till we pick up our clubbie! Then headed straight out for a family weekend roadtrip, should be a perfect opportunity to put some miles on get through the break-in mileage! :-)
Stopped by the dealer after work today to check it out - somehow something on my order got messed up and the car arrived without the sport stripes. Dealer said to bring it back in next week and they'd put on the stripes - no big deal and I have to take back in for Window tinting anyway.
Hang in there Mr. Wickham - we'll have another Omaha car "in the house" soon! Go Huskers!
Congrats to Chugiakgirl and all others taking delivery to enjoy over the holiday weekend - good motoring to you all!
