What did they screw up and how did that involve a bumper. I hope you are leaning on them for more goodies to be thrown your way. Heck I would even be stammering for a loaner.

T minus 20 hours for me.

so the report was that the "tech" who was installing my sport link didn't follow the important rule of measure twice and drill once.
totally hearsay, though. the sales manger had not seen it when she called me. she was supposed to call me back to let me know how long repairs should take.

I'm in that race for sure . I went by the dealer today, and my MA showed me on his screen that my car has still not been released from the VDC to a carrier. I'm in limbo now.

Hang in there janet, I feel your pain, I just had to drop my OLE off at the dealer

The accelerator pedal wire is showing just a bit too much. Was said to have to leave it.

Well Here is my situation, although not entirely bad, The wonderful Tropical storm FAY screwed up my plans for my Mini arrival. Since we were preparing for the storm, the dealer halted all shipments of cars till tomorrow. Mine was suppose to arrive today. The dealer said that their insurance doesn't cover (storm) damage during transport. I find that kinda strange. Anyway, I am hoping that nothing is wrong with my car and I receive it tomorrow and not the day after since I will be on shift for 24 hrs.

OH and I have a good story to tell. The clubman that I test drove when I was looking to buy a mini apparently was involved in a head on collision during a customers test drive. The salesman had told him to hit the sports button and give it some gas. So they are crusing down this street and this other car decides to make a left, ending up in a "head-on" collision at 60 mph as the salesguy described it. Both airbags deployed and the ten year old kid was perfectly fine in the backseat. The seatbelts prevented them from hitting the airbags. The all walked away from the accident perfectly fine. How is that for a test drive? I think I would be pretty sold on the safety aspect.

Well is it D-Day for me with T minus 7 hours to go.

I was thinking what makes us so different from other car owners Why do we obsess. Is it the fact the MINI is so unique, is it the fact that we have to wait, could it be we get to track the progress our MINI makes form the first weld to delivery of a beatiful baby, is the fact that we get to meet fellow motorist in the same boat?

Congratulations, today is a BIG day for you!!!
I have often thought about the same thing. I think a big part of it is that we BUILT our cars to OUR specs. We are getting a CUSTOMIZED car that has what WE want in our car, and nothing else. It is also the "uniqueness" for sure. How many times have YOU listened to the MINI sound as you waited for your OL status to load? Dozens and dozens of times for sure LOL. I always look forward to reading first impressions of new drivers

some of us are still there, while many are not
are they installing your stripes, or anything else? that seems to be the deciding factor.

What a car!!!!!!!!!!! Maddie is home. I will have pics tomorrow. Wendy sent them to me is a format NAM doesn't recognize and she went to bed. I will work on uploads on Thursday.
A great experience with the dealership. My MA made a math error to my favor and I actually saved over $1000 off of MSRP because of Costco.
Only one small issue my MA caught and that is the bonnet stripes....one looked like a bird had dropped it's load and no one caught it in time. Marred one strip. The other one had some scratches on it. So I am getting new stripes on my next trip over.

You definitely feel one with the MINI when motoring.

Which stripes? Bonnet stripes are factory installed, and sport stripes are VDC or dealer installed.

At this rate, it will be me or jgarner, as our estimated delivery dates have been updated to 9/5 & 9/6 respectfully. Darn those sport stripes, 3+ weeks to install . I left my MA a message last night to see if I could cancel the stripes and get my car on a truck. I'll keep you updated, but I am doubtful :(
