Fedora (WW) was also docked at that same time as Southern Highway. Why are you asking? MA tell you you are still at the dock in Southhampton?

 

The UJs really look sharp. The wife would do the UJs if she were getting a MINI. We have two Newfies and tried a test fit for the Clubman...no go.

I wasn't prepared to get it yet, really. The estimated delivery when I ordered was 8/25, so this is over two weeks earlier than I had planned. I'm not complaining, though!

The chicago and Milwaukee clubs do a lot of events together, so look us up sometime. We'll be the couple with two little girls stuffed in the back of the MINI!

My car isn't showing up with the VIN tracking on the WW site. Which means it must be on a K-Line ship... or maybe it really is still sitting on a ship at sea.

 

For all of the left coasters (and arizona) folks out there, I just checked the Port Hueneme schedule (http://www.portofhueneme.org/home.php) and it shows the Turandot arriving on Monday, August 11. The description in the calendar shows a terse description (I'm assuming) of what's on board: "742/vhc/177/hh/408/bmw/350/mini/7/rr/wwl/pac"

"mini" is in there so... I don't know what to think. Now we can only hope the trucks our cars on on fill up fast so they can hit the rode.

 

WOO HOO, great news, 2 more days . Looks like there are 350 Minis on board to me.

Yes, it should be here this month. It is currently showing as "In transit" on the OL.

Grrr... My MINI was supposed to arrive at the dealership yesterday according to OL, but it is still at the NY VDC.


I hope it wasn't damaged or anything like that, as I have no VDC installed options.


I guess now I can't take delivery on Monday, but I hope at least it arrives over the weekend.

 

Any idea why? Sitting for four days with no options to be added has to be frustrating.

 

I looked at week 27 or 28 a few weeks ago and there was a back log at the vdc ny causing the usual 2 day visit to be longer so I'm sure its just something like that

Well hopefully we will see a change to OL on Monday morning or Tuesday to at VDC. Such a lag on OL.

Hey Brian.....any updates for us. Is your MINI stateside, dealer already delivered?

 

Funny you should ask. I picked up my car yesterday afternoon. MY MA had it waiting for me in the center of the otherwise empty showroom (the dealer is sold out) so it had all the spotlights to itself. Several customers commented on how nice it looked.
Everything went well and my MA was very helpful, walking me thru all the controls and revealing a couple of 'secrets.'
In Illinois we have front license plates. She was nice enough to ask me if I wanted the front plate installed at that time, since it requires screwing into the bumper and making holes. I took a pass, deciding instead to order the front license plate holder from MiniMania that uses the front tow hook hole.
So far, I have mastered hooking up the mirror mounted garage door opener (not easy), getting my bluetooth phone working with the on-board hands-free system (not too hard) and programming the radio (easy once you learn how.
I took a couple of quick snaps and put them in my gallery.
My MINI is a blast to drive. Could not be happier!

 

So that's what I'm hoping. It was actually offloaded from the boat on the 2nd. Actually a week ago...

As long as I get it the first few days of next week, I won't fret too much, but if it becomes a longer wait, I may start getting a little nervous.

 

brianjt, congrats on the smooth pick-up. I was also debating between the center mounted versus offset plate, but I think I like the center location better, and I believe that small center panel in the bumper (which they install the plate to) is easily replaceable...
