I spoke with my MA today. Maddie should be delivered to the dealer on the 17th.

A few days after I signed my purchase order, I realized I had forgot to ask if the dealer was part of the Costco Preferred Dealer Network. I asked my MA in an email several weeks ago and she said yes. So today, not knowing the Costco discount and having already signed the PO, I asked if we could negotiate an OEM windscreen in lieu of changing the paperwork. My MA said why would you want to do that when your discount is $769.00 and the Windscreen is $450. Since I had my downpayment calculated already for the PO price, I am ecstatic because I am getting a free windscreen and saving a few bucks to boot. My PENFED check arrived today so I am chomping at the bit. My best guess is a Wed the 20th p/u. MA is off on the 19th. Really would be delighted with an 18th p/u.

It's been a little of both.. Tom has really kept me informed... and I think I may have gotten hold of him before he even had time to get to me first .
Anyway.. good luck with yours... you'll be motoring before you know it..

I never knew this existed!

I am going to have to call my MA tomorrow and find this out! We've been Costco members for years to boot...

And the drama continues for me...

The dealership and credit union are at odds over what paperwork is required for my transaction.

Round 1:
The dealership said they handle the title. The credit union said otherwise.
Winner--Credit Union, who is now doing the title work.

Round 2:
The credit union says they need a copy of the MSO before they give me the check. The dealership says they don't give out the MSO (dealer title) to anyone.
Winner--Dealership; the credit union is giving me the check today.

Round 3:
The credit union said that once I take delivery on my MINI, I need to ask for the MSO and bring it to them. I asked them what I do if they won't give it to me... they said I'll need the dealership to overnight the MSO to the credit union. I asked what will happen if they don't... they said that they will have to put a hold on the check.

Winner--hopefully me... I told the credit union that I will not pick up the check if there is a possibility that they will put a hold on the check and that they need to communicate this to the dealership. I then called my MA and told him that I will not pick up the car until the paperwork issue is settled.

I'm scheduled to pick up my check Tuesday after work and pick up the MINI Wednesday morning, but who knows how this thing will unfold.

Both parties know how frustrated I am... this process has been harder than buying my house and it's sucking the joy out of buying a MINI. I hope no one has to go through the mess I've been through.

Sorry to hear that, HelenaMINI. It seems like quite a few people are being turned off by their dealerships, lending facilities, etc...

I hope that once we all have our cars, and are motoring, all the problems will be forgotten, and replaced by the sheer joy of driving our beloved cars, which we have been anticipating for so long.

That sucks.

My Credit Union just wanted to see what the invoice will be, the VIN, proof that I will be insuring the vehicle and my smile to allow me to close on the loan.

I have had the checks sitting in my desk here at the office for about two weeks now. Yeah, I'm paying interest... but in the long run that doesn't matter because I will be paying off the loan a few weeks earlier then I would if I did financing though the dealership.

The only "issue" is the cost of the Vanity Plate. My MA had to guess at that and likely overpriced that cost. If that's the case... then I'll be getting a check from the dealership. If not, it certainly can't be off by that much and I'll just write a check for the difference.

Wire harness was damaged at assembly. Screw right into the harness. It was found in behind the right side kick panel. Many wire bundles come there to the fuse block. I work in the Automotive manufacturing industry so I know this is a common issue. We need to have good control of wire bundle position and frimly attached to keep them in place. Sometimes they get out of position and this is what happens.

Flytime....thanks for the heads-ip......time to change your signature now since your are a "QUITE"

Helena unbelievable story....I am seeing more and more stories of customer dissatisfaction with MINI Dealers. Despite my MA's lack of ability to answer email, she is putting money in my pocket as noted in a post I made last night.

My MA said he's handling a minimum of 2 deals per day, six days a week... I can understand why e-mails don't always get answered or phone calls aren't immediately returned.

My MA called me last night at 9:30pm CST (that'd be 10:30 EST for him) to answer a question in a voicemail from 5:45pm that day. He's doing all he can to make sure I know what is going on and I really appreciate that. That said, I'm not one to ask for freebies for my troubles, but I'd sure be nice to get free floor mats out of this

Ok here is another perspective....Avg MA per dealer 4,....delivering 8 cars a day......that's 192 cars a month. Minimum profit per car 2.5K (I actually looked over my MA's shoulder when she was making the order and saw a 3.5K difference between my MSRP and their cost......192 cars/ month = nearly half a million in gross profits

rubber mats...at cost.....maybe $30

Getting the $$ is the hardest part..... I hate this part of the process of buying a car. If it doesn't happen tonight, go to another CU... good luck

To all who had cars on the Turandot (west coasters, etc.) I just heard from my MA and he said my Clubman was "released to trucking today" and he expected it to arrive at the dealer tomorrow. I'm skeptical but hopeful.

Spoke to MA today and my mini should be ready for pick up at dealer Friday or Saturday (should arrive at dealer Thursday or Friday) provided I'm on the "short" trucking route. Received check for balance of invoice from Penfed last Thursday so I'm ready to role. I hope it arrives for a weekend of driving.

BTW, my MA said the Southern Highway mini's made it to the VDC in Greer SC Friday evening but not logged in until Monday so online won't reflect for another day or two probably.

SS/SS, premium, sport seats, gotham grey, MFW/bluetooth

Thanks for the update. I have been waiting for OL to change!

Your MINI will be going through Deja Vu....arrive at Charleston, train to Greer and truck to Charleston for delivery.

I don't think I ever caught where you bought your MINI. I assume it was either in Lake Bluff or Schaumburg?
