i have a headlight problem.
my passenger the first night almost fell out of the mini he was laughing so hard. the passenger side light points down and a little to the right. . . .and the driver side points straight out.
last night my husband said maybe it is for safety. . . .so that you always can see the white line. he is not helpful.

Alas, we are NOT at 100% for Week 29. I'm heading down to Portland next Friday to meet Travis finally.

Yeah, maybe it's time we started a week 29 "First impressions" thread, that would be cool.
I have the cold weather package, w folding mirrors. When you look at the plate that houses the mirror toggles, there is no thrid button to fold the mirrors. Wires are there, fuses, but no button. It was assembled as you would if someone didn't have the cold weather package. Calling the dealer on Tuesday to remind them if they haven't already ordered the part to do so since she is coming in on the 8th for some "we owes"

There isn't an additional button to fold the mirrors, you only need to turn the **** past where it stops to select left or right mirror. Go try it

Greg that is probably the way you do it on Gen II, but the cabrio is still a GEN I. I still have a traditional key.

Oops, my bad . That is weird man, wiring is there, but no button. What happened to quality control?

Hey janet...how are those topless tan lines ? I found I need to keep sunscreen in the MINI and must wear a hat, but boy oh boy...my tans is getting better each day. 985 miles, 965 topless. Alas today it will not be topless. The remininants of Gustov are here in Chicagoland....but hey we need the rain.

I am sure you are getting a lot of attention if your driving around topless. I mean of course the car.

lots of people look. . . .my mom says you can't stay anonymous in this car.
i am getting my summer tan back. it had faded since i went back inside. (during the summer i am a camp leader and a teacher during the school year.) my husband has sun burned knees.
sadly, i have to take it to the shop next week. to have the headlight motor replaced. . . the reason it does not seem focused is because it never actually lifts up after turning on. i have been assured that it should not take too long and i will have a car while it is not with me.

Finally got the break in mileage done and changed the oil today. What a breeze. Have always used mobil 1 5w30 but decided to use Castrol full synthetic 5w30 this time. Took 4.5 quarts. Was nice for once not having to get under the vehicle to remove a filter and even draining the oil from the pan was easy. I'm leary about the l5,000 mile oil change thingy, probably do it again in another 5,000.

Good let's keep in touch. I am going with the every 8000 mile oil change. I didn't do one at 1200. All kinds of schools of thought on that, my school says it isn't neccessary, that is why there is a filter. But as I said many schools at there. Will be curious to see how things are as we get to the 70K+ mark.

I'm really enjoying it too - got about 1500 miles on mine. Not sure what I'll do about the oil change yet. I'm facing a couple of issue tho:
1) Dripping liquid from the chassis - It smells like water, guessing it is just condensation from the A.C. Anyone else facing this?
2) The ride is really, really rough. I can feel every little bump in the road. Is this normal? My previous Mazdaspeed6 was much smoother.
3) I'm also facing, what I think is understeer. When I accelerate quick, I seem to lose control of the direction that I want the car to go. I'm guessing I'm in a learning curve on how to drive a FWD car, as the Mazdaspeed6 was AWD.

If anyone has any tip, I'd appreciate it

What packages and what car did you order. I have a loaner right now (car in the shop for "we owes") It is a MCa with prem, sport and conv packages but 15 inch wheels. This car is a lot louder and handles much differently than my MCSC that has the same packages. Run Flats haven't made a noise difference to me.

i am loving my beautiful cabrio. but alas it is in the shop and the "loaner" i got is not a mini it is a beetle and it feels like a tank. hopefully tomorrow we will be motoring together again.
i have not noticed any of the "rough ride issues" that i have read about. however i was expecting a "sports car" type of ride and the mini is a step up car for me. it seems like the people who complain most had bmw's, audi's and other luxury type cars which would make me think that they might have had higher expectations than i did. i have no complaints about my car

Hey Short Wait, Did you do your oil change yourself? I've always done my on oil changes on my other cars, and I've been spoiled be the spin-on type filters. The canister on the MINI looks somewhat intimidating.
