I just found out that the checkered door handles are not compatible with comfort access. Also that the check rearview mirror cover is not compatible with the universal garage door opener unless you cut holes into it. That sucks and cuts down on my b/w check detail. Hopefully something modded will come out on the market soon.
Wait - is your "born on" date the date you started production, or the date you complete production?
I know MY born on date was the date I completed production, NOT the date that my mother had a little too much wine and... oh, wait. This is northamericanmotoring, not northamericancounseling.

LOL
Steve Jaworski; All he had to do with me is get the keys and license plate for the test drives... to decide between the S and non-S versiions. Pretty good salesguy. But he tried to add the "floor mats" on the list of accessories at $105.00 and I caught it, just had him take them off the order, since I want to aftermarket mats. They are very busy and have only 2 salespeople on the floor there.
Alrighty then! I just spoke with ASK MINI and at this hour my vehicle, which started production on 2 July, has finished assembly and is awaiting QA / inspection. With luck it will be on a ship at the end of the week.
yeah...I am assuming you are not a native polish speaker !!
lol. no. not a native polish speaker. but our issues had nothing to do with that. all is past and what matters now is that my mini was painted today and should be completed tomorrow!
oh, and i guess it doesn't matter but ask mini told me today that my production started july 2nd, not the 3rd as i was originally told.

Just got you're license?!
Aw Dude,
Tell us you're not really 16 and just got this as a present, or by saving up 10 years of a really big paper route!
Seriously, welcome to week 28! We don't care how you got here. Just glad you are and I hope to see you out there or at a rally!
Actually, you may not be 16, and this may not be your first car, but, I'd be a bit scared to have a MINI as my first car. I remember that HUGE traffic ticket I got in 1987 in my new red Toyota Celica GTS, while (no lie) playing my 6 speaker, 6 CD stereo REALLY LOUD with Bon Jovi's "Livin on a Prayer"...man, that ticket kept giving for years and years on my insurance. (interestingly, they didn't catch me when I drove 100 MPH from Enfield CT to New Haven CT on I-91, without once tounching the brakes!!)
Or there was that time I took out my first mailbox when I was 16 with Dad's new Impala station wagon...leave it to me to find the one guy in the County who was fed up with kids hitting his mailbox, so he put a new metal one in with a steel pipe, buried and filled with concrete, right on the edge of a turn in a busy State highway...brilliant!
Anyway...have fun, just be careful!
Cheers

Nope not 16. 30 but moved here from Canada 9 years ago. Never bothered to learn there because I grew up in a small town, and never bothered to learn here until now because I was lazy and also because I didnt have a car to practice on. Then I got married, got myelf an education, a real job, and voila, I took driving lessons and here I am.
Although I guess I shouldnt be on your week 28 thing anymore....I originally ordered a car that was scheudled for week 28 production. But then I couldnt wait so I bought one off the lot. I just lurk because I used to be part of this crew
I bought the car last tHURSDAY and got my license today!!!! My husbands been driving it the past couple of days but now its all MINE!

They gave me the same dates, too, and I'm at the "other" MD dealer. Our cars might share a boat ride. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
on the web site it still says on order but when I called ask mini, yesterday, the recording said "scheduled for production"
is this the phase where the parts are lined up to be ready for assembly?
my ma said last week that I would be going into production soon, but still says to expect it second week of september. I still don't understand that date though, seems like it should be here mid august , but I just don't know

Per the OL web function, my car is still "Scheduled for Production".
But per ASK MINI my car was completed yesterday, 8 July (Hooray!), and is no longer at the factory. Whether it is currently being transported to the port, or is at the port, they cannot say. The WW site does not currently reflect my VIN as being an item of cargo that they recognize.

this wait is killing me.
I'm having so many doubts on color and color of interior, its ridiculous.
Is it hard to change the interior color line, later?
And does anyone know if the plate holder in the front comes with the mini or is that an add on(the one that s in the pictures from the configuror)

Wahoo! Askmini says it is "being transported to the port of exit".
I wonder if Mini groups production orders by: 1) the same type or 2) the same dealer for efficiency?
They're probably just building them as fast as they can and it is just coincidence that it seemed that several cars from Otto's Mini were grouped into week 28

Hey Everyone! I just found this thread and realized I'm a member of this week 28 gang as well! My MINI went into production on 7/3 at 6:55am and completed production yesterday, 7/8. Today they wrapped up all of the final assembly/inspection stuff and released it for distribution! I'm psyched, but the wait is KILLING ME!!!! Any idea how long it will take to get here? My dealer is in VA.
