All aboard the BOHEME 05/21/2008
So how do they do this? I mean, they've got almost 2000 cars to offload the ship (BMWs and MINIs) and the ship'll be in port for 24 hours give or take...so that's like 80 cars an hour to process off that ship...1.3 cars a minute...(ok, check my math, because I could be off base here), but
that seems like chaos! But what do I know...

Theory
With 12 hour loading time, it's conceivable to expect 12 hour unloading. Hours of operation end at 4:30, begin again at 8:00, hour and a half for lunch. Given inspection, likely transport may begin on Friday. Just a theory.

531st for me
I've kinda settled into waiting, 'tis very comfortable and I wouldn't want to rouse myself anyway
does anyone know if the WW site is supposed to update when our cars disembark? *getting antsy in her comfortable chair*

According to those on the Isolde which docked at PH on May 6th, the WW website will eventually update with the time that each of our vehicles are "discharged" from the ship and subsequently "delivered" to the VDC. Should happen very soon! Their ship also docked on a Tuesday and there were some owners from Southern CA who received their Minis on a Saturday, so I'm still hopeful that I can pick mine up on the 14th (although I did not calculate my loading number as some of my fellow shipmates have done).

(It's amazing what boredom and suggestion can lead to actually...)
I read the Isolde thread from April/May, and the first cars started showing up on the lot 23 days after shipment. This means there is a small possibility some people will see cars on 6/13 (THIS FRIDAY!!). The greatest chance will be for people in Ventura & NW LA County.
However, I think the majority of us in So Cal will start having cars arrive 6/16 & 6/17.

Did they say what the dealers were giving them?
Nothing in particular, but some members have received letters from MINI with booklets saying their MINI is on its way and other small fun goodies.
I called MINI of Mountain View and my MA told me that my car should be arriving... "at the end of the month." Either he doesn't know an estimated delivery date yet... or he's just saying that cause of the "orders take approx. 6-8 week" thing. Still no updates on the WWL tracking yet!
I did the Excel thing with the cargo list last night and my MINI was loaded under the first half of the 670

Field Guide
Speaking of manuals...one could pass the remaining time reading the *acutal* manual...get to know all the great features of our Minis! A little bedtime reading to ensure sweet dreams...
I spoke to my MA and my car is scheduled to be trucked out of the VDC tomorrow and will arrive tomorrow night. Dealer needs most of Friday to prep the car, so it will be ready Friday late afternoon.
Unfortunately, I am out of town this weekend, so I am picking up on Monday.
Looks like MOST LA/OC area people should be able to deliver a car by Saturday, unless you are getting a lot of VDC installed accessories.

Where's your dealer at??
South Bay BMW. I see you're in San Diego. There is a chance your dealer will receive your car on Thursday night, but more than likely I would say Friday for you. **JUST A GUESS**
GTFO!!! Lucky!! I would love love LOVE to have delivery this weekend!!!

I guess it's a few more days of quality time with my current car...
