I spoke with my salesguy this afternoon and he told me my Clubman is finished and is waiting for delivery to the port! Right on schedule.

I like the idea of being able to track the build and delivery, but I think I'm gonna drive myself crazy before it finally gets here! I check that damn Owner's Lounge site at least three time a day. Sheesh!

 

In production just means that they have started staging the parts that will be needed for building the car.

 

wow, 4 days to gather parts, 2 to build it? damn, something is out of proportion there, can't quite put my finger on it though haha.

 

You ever seen the insides of an assembly plant and how the parts are staged. My buddy used to work for a company that built truck frames. If a major part was defective, it costs thousand's of dollars to pull the rest of the parts associated with the build. Lots of logistics involved. They also have to plan purchasing based on what is being used for a build. "Lots of MFSW in tuesday's run, better order 1000 more units." That kind of stuff. In production means the factory paperwork has started.

 

great info jamz, thanks.. I was wondering what was up with the fact that I was "in production" yet the car hasn't even begun assembly. I guess the building part is just as fast as it seems from the video..

 

FINALLY! The OL has changed to Awaiting Transport -- I don't know why but it has been killing me that since Monday I've been told that my Clubman is finished and headed to port... I guess I just want all the ducks in a row... As if since the OL is correctly displaying the status it will make my Clubman somehow make the ship tomorrow... Oh well, I'm just happy SOMETHING is happening! Congrats to everyone!! I'm so glad we have eachother even though most of us have no idea what week we really belong to! You all are a great group of people! Hopefully our MINI's are having as much fun as we are!

 

Don't take this as me picking on you but the part where you say "been killing me since Monday" made me chuckle....I had to check the day/time on the taskbar to confirm that it's only Tuesday...then I smiled again....

True, true... don't you wish time flew that fast? I don't work Monday's and I work such long hours Tuesday - Friday that it makes me feel like half the week is over already lol. Just goes to show how crazy I'm going! Thanks for making me wake up a bit! Big deep breath in..... exhale....

Any ideas on how to make yourself stop going crazy? Cause I have none... I almost feel like if I don't check anything for like a week maybe then when I do check it there will be great news but then the excitement starts all over again... This is a vicious cycle! I orderd a MCS back in 2005 and didn't really get involved in all the excitement in the order process and some reason with the Clubman order I am glued to the computer searching for some new development... Anyways... maybe a trip to the dealer to drive a MINI is in order!

Because I'm bored and anxious anyone have any good ideas on name suggestions for a Pepper White Clubman? I am stuck like some of you are... hoping that once I see it that I'll know...

I did pick my vanity plate, it's going to be "UMMPSHH" in honor of the blow off valve that we don't have on our Turbo's but a sound I love!

My MA told me that there will probably be a dealer installed option down the road but MINI didn't use them because it weakend performance. I don't know much about cars, always thought that sound came with the turbo lol.

 

But just think, you could sit in it and close your eyes and just for a split second imagine yourself in your car... but your right it only worsens the want.

Geeze! Really cool though, in the week 21 support group I was reading they have links to webcams that you can see your ship depart... not sure how acurate it is, but who knows!

 

so if you don't make the Rigoletto leaving tomorrow, when is the next ship you can get on?

yeah, in the build shop, still projecting to be complete on the 5th. but no more than that yet

 

Yeah I wish they had more info, more detailed on where it is in production. Like you go from "In Production" to in the "Paint Shop" and then to Complete... there is nothing really in the middle that I could tell.
