The wait is killing me!

 

now i don't want to be putting ideas in your head...but this may be your way to getting out of work early.......

 

Not a bad idea, but I called my MA and he said no problem, we're open till 8. Just so happens to be a gorgeous day here in Nashville. Driving home as the sun sets. I hear the interior lighting at night is awesome.

About to walk out the door to pick up my new Clubman. Pics to follow.

I got my MINI tonight. cant stop smiling .... my face is starting to hurt... will post pics tomorrow....time to go driving some more...

The moment I have been waiting for came 5 weeks 5 days and 4 hours after ordering Blackjack. He was waiting for me on the showroom floor spotless with a gleam in his eye. I was a bit misty myself. The Astro Black coat was beautiful revealing its midnight blue hue in the late evening sun. I slowly strolled around the sport to examine all angles and surfaces. Then I gently grasped the handle and opened the door to the cockpit. The smell was intoxicating and the driver's seat already positioned to accommodate my 6'1" frame. The leather wrapped steering wheel fit my hands perfectly. Looking around the cabin I was thankful that I ordered the anthracite headliner it complimented the black/dark gray interior. A voice echoed in the showroom, "You must be Mr. Russell". Yes I am! It was Richey my MA.
The delivery process was very smooth and informative. Richey was great as he explained all the functions, and there is ALOT to explain. I went for the 6yr/100,000 bumper to bumper warranty for additional $1503. Let me know if that is a fair deal or not. Of course its too late now, but I would still like to know what others were able to negotiate. My gas tank was near empty and Richey apologized that the "gas card guy" had left for the day before he realized that it wasn't fueled up. Richey promised two free fill ups for my trouble. So after going over the programming and the controls he opened the showroom door and off I went into the sunset.
The odometer read 2 miles with an average speed of 4mph. So I think it is safe to say Blackjack was not abused. The interior "mood" lighting is soo cool. The bluetooth and the ipod interface totally rocks. This is the coolest car I have every owned. I kept the rpm's low and turned the stereo off after a few miles to listen to Blackjacks vitals. Sounds very healthy.
The ride home had a moment of panic. I am thankful for the "mood" lighting that illuminated my right thigh because there crawling toward my waist was a spider about the size of a quarter! Spiders freak me out. I guess he was a stowaway on board the INTEGRITY. He didn't make it home, fortunately I did.
Totally dark when I got home so pictures will be coming tomorrow morning. It was everything I was expecting and more, definitely worth the wait.

 

woohoo!! i'm so excited to hear that both shaggy & cutters got their minis this evening! (now we just need to hear back from rockhouse for an update in regards to tonight's pickup)

loved the write-up about your experience, cutters. i have no idea about the extended warranty. but hey....now you're covered til 2014 AND you've got 2 tanks of gas on the way! score! and about that spider.......it reminds me of:


so let's see... just 3 MINIs left on the integrity....... one left on the elektra....... two vessels either docked or have delivered their cargo already.... and finally two ships still out at sea.

A whole row of Clubbies all facing backwards to the big screen with the barn doors wide open. Anybody made up some recliners to fit in the back?

 

wow...that sound neat. i guess the r56ers (like myself) will just have to make do without barn doors. though i did order a sunroof....

 

Would love to be. Never found out if I was a week 15'er or a 16, but since everyone else on the Turandot seems to be here too, I thought I'd stick with this thread for the voyage.

Here are some early morning shots just before we made a run. Still studying the manual. No more spiders this morning, whew.

 

it's confirmed. Picked it up last night. Finding amazing features like mirrors rotate in, windows & sunroof open with remote, not having to take the key out of my pocket. Sure there are many others. Pics in a couple of days. Working 24 hours at a fire station today. Supposed to rain tomorrow.

 

I've had enough. Just dropped lines to my MA and to Wallenius Wilhelmsen. The INDEPENDENCE II appears to have already left for Georgia, but there's no sign of my Clubbie being offloaded. Gah!

 

hang in there, danhen & doogs. maybe its on land, but it just doesn't show up on the computer. kinda like the mini OL. i'm sure you independence II passengers will be surprised with some good news soon enough.....
