R56 Production Week 35 Support group???

After quite the wait I finally made it into the dealer this past Saturday to place the order for my MINI; woot! Surprisingly enough my MA was able to give me a production number the very next day stating that my MINI was starting production and has an estimated completion date of 8/28. So now starts the hard part of obsessing over the Owner's Lounge and dialing Ask MINI at least 3 times a day for updates. Any other week 35ers out there or am I the only one thus far?
Specs are:
-Cooper S
-6-Speed Auto w/Agitronic Mode
-Sparkling Silver Body Color
-Black Roof/Mirrors
-White Turn Signals
-Sport Package w/ 17" Crown-Spoke (Performance) & Black Bonnet Stripes
-Rear Fog Lamp
-Rain Sensor and Auto Headlamps
-Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror
-Premium Package
-Cold Weather Package
-Chrome Line Interior
-Anthracite Headliner
-Cream Color Line
-Leather: Lounge Carbon Black
-Interior Surface Piano Black
-10-Speaker. Hi-Fi Sound System
-Park Distance Control
-All season tires

I placed my order on Saturday the 18th and received my production number today. 1-800-ASK-MINI says I'm scheduled for week 35 HAZZAH! This is my second Cooper (2005 Cooper S previously). I'm interested to see if the delivery goes any quicker this time. Here's my spec...

Cooper S

Dark Silver / White Roof & Mirrors
DSC
LSD
Sport Suspension
Xenon headlights
16" S-Winders (will be sold and replaced with afermarket wheels immediately)
Anthracite Headliner

Sounds awesome, so we actually ordered on the same day and were able to get production spots almost immediately, COOL! If you don't mind my asking, what dealer are you going through?

Oooo, I might be week 35 as well. I need to call them. I ordered mine on Friday and my MA gave me my production number right then and there. But, I noticed 2 things. The VIN on the Buyer's Order sheet he gave me is different than the VIN online AND my lounge leather doesn't show up on my list of options online. Any one else with these problems??

Hmmm, I'm not sure. Mine showed up fine ever since signing up for the Owner's Lounge; but then again this wasn't until a few days after placing my order. I know a lot of times orders show up a bit weird the first few days after placing an order so you might just wanna give it some time :-) But wow, you got a VIN already??

Yep, it was on the sheet the MA gave me before I left the dealership, and when I logged onto the Owner's Lounge a couple of hours later, there was my order, with a different VIN. In the lounge, my MINI went from "on order" to "scheduled for production" sometime on Saturday. I did not expect that until Monday.

Hmmmm, If I have 2 VIN's maybe they'll build me 2 MINI's

Woohoo, in checking Ask MINI today my completion date is now 8/23 as my MINI is currently in the paint shop! I'm quite impressed thus far in how smooth and fast this whole process is going. I guess I'm a week 34er now but all the best to everyone :-)

hey there, i'm not a MINI owner, but my best friend will soon be one I've been reading around here trying to get some tips and tricks for her. She just ordered a MCS almost exactly like MSteadman's except with the comfort access, LSD, NAV, and red leather seats. Originally, I was trying to influence her into getting Mellow Yellow, but after seeing some pics here of the SS/Red color combo, I'm sold that she made the right decision. She has a Week 35 production but the OL hasn't updated yet to show her choices. I can't wait to test it out as I almost got one myself a few years ago (it was a blue JCW MCS), but ended up with a BMW 330Ci instead. I'm now a Nissan Titan driver so that I can pull a boat, but am soooo missing a nice sporty car. I think I'm as excited as she is about her baby being made. Hopefully she'll post on here soon to say hi!

I placed my order on Monday, and was told by my MA today that my MINI's scheduled for completion during Week 35. I kind of expected I would have to wait awhile for a slot, so I was pleasantly surprised by the news.

MCS Specs:
---------------------------------
- DS/B w/chrome mirrors
- White Turn Signals
- Premium Pkg.
- Sport Pkg., 17" Crown Spokes
- Convenience Pkg.
- Rear Fog Lamps
- Chrome Line Interior
- Leatherette, Black/Gray
- English Oak/Piano Black
- Navigation
- Hi-Fi Sound System
- iPod Connection Kit
- Invisishield upper and lower

I've been planning this for so long, that it's hard to believe that it's actually going to become a reality!

Cheers to everyone else on Week 35. Looking forward to following all of our MINIs' progress over the next weeks.

I too am a week 35er, according to ASK MINI, the parts are being manufactured but the assembly has not started.

A stupid question: Does the MCS come with floor mats? Do I need to order them separately? I noticed that the MCS that I test drove and a few other MCS at the dealership did not have floor mats.

I believe floor mats are an option. I didn't order them when I ordered my MINI, but I may at a later time.

I'm now seeing the correct specs in the Owners Lounge, after a few days showing the wrong color and options. A couple of more days until they start putting them together.

AGGGGGHHHH!!!

I was at work all day, wondering about my MINI and I couldn't call b/c I left the stupid production number at home. Grrr. Tried to remember the number but I was off by 1 digit.

Moral: keep your production number handy at all times. duh.

When I got home, MINI guy said he was being assembled. Huzzah!

Now it's time to play guess which ship . . .

And I'm back! Turns out the MA who entered my production number the first time and told me I got bumped to week 34, was off by one digit hence him teasing me into thinking my MINI was already done with production :impatient But as of today MY MINI is in fact in the paint shop with an estimated completion date of Tuesday so no complaints hereeee It's actually insane, I find myself calling into automated Ask MINI at least once a day, what am I gonna do once it's on the ship for 2 weeks and the updates are consequently halted!?!

I also ordered my MCS also on 8/18 but my Owners lounge profile just changed over yesterday (8/24) to "on order". I believe it should begin production next week making it wk 35!

'07 Cooper S
DS/B
Sport pkg - 17" crown spokes
Hyper Sport pkg
DSC
LSD
rear fog lights
white turn signals
piano black interior

I think you're doing pretty well if you only call once a day. Nothing insane about that. Hopefully you'll be on a ship that you can obsessively track across the ocean and worry about weather etc. Otherwise there's just a black empty void of "in transit".

Yea, I totally lied, it's more like 3 times a day - I just can't help it. And I memorized my production number from like day two so sometimes I just find myself calling in simply for the heck of it. So it's only certain ships which are trackable? I didn't realize that... Having to deal with a simple 'in transit' for 2 weeks will most definitely be the death of me.

I've tried keeping the calling to once/day, so that when "In Transit" phase hits, the updating withdrawal might not be as tough.

I called today, and Serenity is in the paint shop. w00t!

Hey guys,
I believe I might be week 35. When I placed my order, my MA emailed me a copy of my order and it showed week 36 but ASK MINI has my baby scheduled for completion on the 30th. I guess sometimes a Preemie is a good thing!
My youified MCS:

CR/B
Black bonnet stripes
Sunroof
Sport package with Crown Spokes
LSD
Rear fogs
Comfort Access
Anthracite Headliner
Carbon Black Lounge leather
HiFi upgrade
Chromeline Interior
Rooster Red Colorline

thanks wolf!

Chris, did you get the paint update from the automated askmini or from a rep? We've been getting ansy because it shows her mini is set for completion on 8/31 but there's a boat leaving that day! She's hoping that she'll make it but it may be cutting it too close.

When speaking to the rep, they don't seem to have any other info except that it's under production. I thought it only took a week to complete a mini. She went into production last tuesday 8/21 and it looks like it'll be 10 days if it's done on the 31st :( Anyone know someone that we can slide a $20 to for expedition to avoid a week delay?

I spoke to a rep directly (I always bypass the automated system now). My experience has been that some reps are more willing to part with details than others, so if one is vague with you, call them back in a few minutes. You'll likely get someone else, and they may be willing to do a bit more digging for info.
