well we made the paint shop today with an estimated completion date of 8-30-07... it's gonna be close getting on the Patriot 9/1!

Here's to hoping it gets smuggled on before the ship leaves port.

Yeah, it's going to be really close! If we miss that ship, I wonder how much longer we'll have to wait for the next one.

My excitement is now being tempered w/ stress about my current car. The A/C just went dead yesterday, and it's going in tomorrow for service. It's out of warranty, and I'm worried that my MINI down payment is now going to get wiped out by an A/C repair cost.

WOOHOO, according to automated Ask MINI mine is has finished production, been released to the carrier, and is awaiting transfer to the port :-) With any luck I'm hoping to make it onto the Patriot as well; but if not the next ship is the Aida which departs the 4th and arrives into NYC on the 13th. Three day delay - no biggie. I didn't realize it's only 9 days on the boat... Not bad at all!

Greetings! I posted this on the Week 34 thread too since info on my build is sketchy. Curious if anyone has been notified that they are booked on either the UNDINE (dept 8/28) or the PATRIOT (dept 9/1) for East Coast? ASKMINI say mine was released to carrier days ago but my VIN still isnt showing up yet.

Hi. This is my first post on NAM - hoping it ends up in the intended thread. I ordered an MCS (Laser Blue, DSC and MFSW) on Aug 12th. According to Ask-MINI it started production on Aug 22nd and will be completed Aug 30th. I'm on the west coast and wondering if I can make the Wallenius Wilhelmsen sailing on Sep 9th.

Color me slow, but I didn't realize the 30th is TOMORROW. My car is almost... alive.

Man Chris, that sucks. It might be tough, but maybe you could tough out this hot weather for 2 or so weeks. Unless you're planning on keeping the current car /shrug. I can't seem to find it, but I've been looking for this pic someone sent me of a car that had a window unit strapped to the sunroof

Hazmat, from what I"ve been reading, the WW site may be like 24-48 hours late updating. I don't have any firsthand knowledge though. Also, some people have been put on Kline ships so you might want to check with your MA to see if they may know.

Thanks Kevin. I'm hoping it will be something relatively minor to repair, but if not, I'll get it fixed and just have less to put down when the MINI gets here. If my current ride wasn't a lease, I would definitely just tough it out. What's a little sweat. Oh well. Just one little more obstacle before the fun begins.

Double UGH! Are you getting rid of this car? If so, that's a triple UGH because you'll fix the problem for someone else's benefit. I just cracked the windshield on the car I'm going to trade in for my MINI, so somebody else is going to have a lovely new windshield . . . There has to be some kinda karmic payoff for this later on, right???

So, like a lot of you, I'm at the port waiting for a ship. My ViN doesn't show up on WW cargo manifest either. Where are you guys seeing all these ships? I'm looking at the Southampton port schedule and it only shows 2 WW ships, one to Galveston, which I don't think takes MINI's and the Patriot to NY. I don't even know if I'm going through NY. I guess I thought from reading old threads that I would go through Charleston, SC. AskMINI has no idea. My MA is new and already thinks I'm nuts...

OK, I'm officially an idiot. The Patriot will dock at NY and then proceed to SC. What will they think of next?? It is scheduled to arrive 9/16. Seems like most midwest and southern MINI's go through SC. I think a goodly portion of us will be on that ship.

From Charleston, they go by train to Greer, SC VDC and then by truck to the dealers.

I need to step away from the MINI/NAM obsession for awhile methinks.

Yeah, getting rid of it (maybe it's mad at me, and that's why it's having problems now? ). Definitely a karmic payoff at the end... a shiny new MINI for each of us!

we finished assembly today and are released to carrier! w00t! Hopefully we'll make it on the patriot!

Although the ask-mini rep today said there's a good chance that we'll be in port for a week. It wasn't based on any facts, just his opinion that normally it takes 2-3 days to make it to port then another week till it's loaded on the ship. Hopefully, we'll be one of the lucky ones that make it on the ship right after production.

Can't wait.. and it's not even my mini! You guys are making me want a mini more and more each day.

bastards!

Good news, guminy. Man, I hope our little crew gets shipped via WW, so we can keep track of progress over the ocean. Otherwise... well, let's say the next weeks are going to be tough. :impatient

Isn't the port only 60 something miles from the factory, what's taking so long???? *Yes, I'm anxious* :-)

If you check the link below you can zoom in on the railyard/Mini storage area. Will give you an idea as to how may train transports they have. Minis can make it to port in a matter of hours or days, just depends on schedules.
Most Minis are "booked" on a ship month(s) in advance, so on rare occasions Mini's can get delayed at the port, but the "usual" wait time for a ship is less than a week.

WOOT, in checking Automated Ask MINI today my baby is finally at the port! Highly doubt it'll make it onto the Patriot which is sailing today but HOPEFULLY it won't be a problem to get it onto the Aida which departs Tuesday. If not the next New York bound ship doesn't leave until a week AFTER the Aida (9/11) which will definitely be a stretch on my already non-existent patience regarding all things surrounding my MINI :-P

The WW site is now listing VINs for the Patriot, have you checked to see if you're on it? Looks like there's over 200 cars on it.

Where can I find this? Mine was done on 8/29, I don't think it will get on the Patriot.
