Grats you guys!

My friend just got her call today and she's scheduled to pick up tomorrow!

We visited him right at closing this evening to make sure he arrived in one piece it's nice seeing the week 35'ers finally put out of their misery!

Intro thread for Ant'ny

On a side note, when we went to see her MCS, we saw a JCW that had a power line fall on him. Apparently, the electrical system is fried!

Been a few days (more like a week) since I've posted - work has been insane for the past couple of weeks. Congrats to all who are almost with their MINIs.

I got word yesterday that mine is still at the VDC. They do have to install my iPod connection there, but would that take over a week? Starting to get worried that mine might have been damaged.

Having items installed at the VDC can delay delivery, depends on how
busy they are. I would not assume your Mini has any damage becasue of
a delay for an install.

My week 34 car has been at the VDC for over a week now as well (both OL and MA gave an estimated delivery date of 9/23 which has now come and gone). I'm having the iPod adapter installed there too and I'm sure that's what's holding things up. Looks like both our VDC's are backed up.

I'm in the same boat. My Mini got to the VDC on the 12th or 13th, and never made it to my dealer untill yesterday. Now if they could only find the paper work to register it...

Hey everyone in week 35. In case you haven't seen, one of our own (our founding father actually) has suffered a terrible loss. Please go to this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=115122
and send Msteadman some kind words.

Still haven't got my car yet, damn VDC Hell. The car has been at my dealer since Monday - but the Certificate of Origin was apparently sent on foot from NJ to Boston. (I was on the Aida, and it got into the VDC on the 12th) Anyone else get the same problem?

2.5 hours to gofor me. I told dealer that I didn't want them to put on the front license plate. They refused to do that. I guess you must have one here and they're afraid that they'll get into trouble if the don't do it. I just don't understand that. If anyone gets into trouble, it would be me. It's my car!!!!!!

Offer to sign a release of liability, works for some dealers.

My Mini was totaled at the VDC... and I didn't even get to know her. Apparently the lightening blue car they recieved last week wasn't mine. My mini died at the VDC, and it only took BMW two weeks to notify me. (via my MA)

But Herb Chambers is making it up to me. Ian, my MA called me yesterday with the bad news, and he had already located another mini state side that had all of the options I was looking for plus some. He said I could re-order, or take the one he had found (at no extra cost). I took the quicker route with the extra options

Plus they offered me a loaner untill the new one is ready!

All in all this emotional rollercoaster was a horrible, stomach turning ride. But the daily updates from Ian, the offer of getting into a loaner untill my new car is ready, and the extra options have more than made up for it. I have to admit I was a little hesitant after reading some of the Herb Chambers reviews, but my experience there has been exceptional given the situation. Thats what customer service is really about; me walking away from a bad situation feeling taken care of.

I cross posted this at:

So sorry to hear this, any idea what happened?

Sounds like you have a good dealer!!! I'm not sure mine would have done this... What extra options are you getting?

Not sure what happened, I think he said something on the phone last night, but I was too shocked to remember. (I think its a mild case of PTSD)

Not a lot. My Mini was pretty bare bones, but the replacement he found was exactly mine with dynamic stability control. But it really is the fact that they found the replacement, and offered right off the bat not to charge for the extra. That goes a long way to bilding a loyal customer out of me...

DSC is a $500 option and so that is indeed pretty nice of them not to charge you any extra for it.
