Owners Lounge was updated today with a VIN for me, too. Woot woot!

I think I'm going to poke around the shipping company's website and see if I can guess which boat might carry our MINIs home to us. Of course, it all depends on how many MINIs are ready and when, but I'm thinking (hoping?) that a boat leaving sometime early in week 34 might be the one.

Masterd78, Hows your wait going? I am too still waiting with no word.
I am hoping to hear something before the 16th. Being in germany we don't have access to "ask Mini" or "owners lounge" so I am at the mercy of my
MA. Ugh! Lets keep our fingers crossed

 

Well, I don't think my MINI will be ready for the next ship heading to the West Coast: the BOHEME leaves Southampton on Aug 20 and my MINI isn't supposed to be done until Aug 17 - probably not enough time to get processed and down to Southampton in time. (Lots of folks from PW 32 are booked on the BOHEME.)

The next ship after that is the MEDEA leaving on the 27th, arriving in Port Hueneme on Sept 17th.

For the East Coast, if your MINI is ready soon, it might make the FAUST, leaving Southampton on Aug 21, or the FREEDOM leaving on the 25th, or the UNDINE leaving on the 28th.

Of course, they sometimes use other carriers...

I don't know about the rest of you, but this is the first time in my life I've gotten excited about something as lame as a vehicle ID number...

VIN = one step closer to having your MINI!

Greylight, how did you find all the shipping info? Now they say my car will be finished today but they have no idea when it gets on a boat.

 

Minikimmie I got my VIN yesterday, so I would hope that you are right there with me. We have been in this together so why wouldn't you be, right!

 

I called Askmini and they said my car will be completed in production on Aug 16th!..How long does it take to get after production?

 

I just called ASK MINI. Car is complete as of today and is going through the QA process.

greylight, where are you getting the shipping info from? ASK MINI told me that my MCS should be on a boat this week, probably in the next few days.

 

Just called Ask Mini and they said that my car started production on Aug. 11th and it will be done by Aug. 16th. WOOT WOOT!!

 

I just called and they said it started on the 11th and should be done by the 16-17th.

 

Our MC is supposed to be built today (started in week 32, finished in week 33), so it'll probably make the Boheme on 8/20. If it does, it'll be in Long Beach on 9/11 and probably in our possession sometimes 2 weeks later.

Blackpearl, mav - I went to the shipper's website (as per the How To Track Your Mini sticky in the 1st Gear forum) and looked at the schedule for the Europe to North America outbound routes. The page (pdf) I was looking at is here.

There are some ships heading for the East Coast this week, but nothing for the West Coast until Aug 20. Unless they use a different shipper.

so if i'm reading that right...if it makes is on the Faust (21st) it would by in NYC on the 30th?

I doubt that finishing on the 17th it would make it out on the 21ist

 

i hope my dealer was right. he told me my MINI was scheduled for week 33 but ASK MINI says its just scheduled for production with no set date or week of production....but i do have a VIN, and it makes me so happy just to see a VIN

 

CaMiniMe did you actually talk to someone on Ask Mini? The automated system told me that there is no set date for mine either, but I talked to somebody and my MCS actually started being built on the 11th and will be done on the 16th.

it is the MCS lightning blue with black top, multi wheel, cloth seats, black bonnet stripes, and arm rest. more or less a base model S

 

Got confirmation from the dealer that the Mini was built today. Let's see when it gets on a boat.

I was told by MINI and ask MINI that today started week 34...Does anyone know how true that is???

 

DARK CHILI - I never asked, so I'm not sure, but everything I've seen refers to this week as 33, including all the calendaring software I use.

I didn't mean to steer you to the wrong thread - I was guessing at your PW. Your PW is an estimate - sounds like they got your baby started almost a week early! There's a support thread for PW 34, too - you're welcome to post in either thread.
