ShowCarDetailing.com Class Signup with OctaneGuy

Ok, I will be signed up as a vendor in a few moments--waiting for some questions to be answered, but I got my airline tickets and rental MINI already reserved.

I'll be arriving on Thursday morning and leaving Sunday. This thread is for scheduling one hour detailing sessions with me. They cost $75 /person for one hour and cover claying, machine polishing, waxing and everything in between. You don't have to be a pro or a novice to take the class--I will tailor it to your skill level. Class materials will be provided on this hands on class.

Want to take your skills to the next level in taking care of your paint, or just want to feel comfortable using a polisher for your first time? Sign up here.

Sorry if this is a silly question...

How do these sessions work? Do we work on our own car or will there be a guinea pig car? Are these group sessions or one-on-one sessions?

Either way, I am definitely interested! I have some lovely swirls courtesy of the body shop that worked on my car recently.

Sorry, I wrote my VA first, then created this thread--didn't realize people might not see the VA.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=134715

As stated in the VA, they are one on one with your car--however I'm trying to find out if it will be logistically possible to use your car or not in the given tent spaces right now.

Edit on 4/21
You will work on your own car and we will cover everything you need to know from washing, claying, polishing, to waxing.

Richard

I'm interested in signing up for one of your classes. My car has some problem areas, and although I don't have a PC myself, would like to learn to use one before purchasing it. I will have my own detailing products (mostly Prima products) to use.

That's perfect! I will have a PC and my rotary buffer with me along with the essential Prima products like Swirl. =)

Ok, I'm interested but it would have to be my car not someone else's that I practice on.
I went out looking for a PC today and for some reason none of the local stores have it.
Is it some sort of conspiracy.

oh if you weren't working on your own it would have been a rental, lol. but it seems that all should be well and things will go as planned..classes using your car.

There used to be a time that Lowes sold PCs but those days are over. its pretty much a mail order deal now. why not order it from a NAM vendor like myself? lol. it will come preconfigured for polishing paint with several exclusive mods. =)

OK count me in, but it has to be Thursday or Saturday between 12noon and 4pm on either day otherwise I have too many other comitments.
Maybe next year the MOTD needs to be a 7 day event so I can squeeze everything in.

Sounds good. I'll throw up a signup list here--unless you want to commit to a particular time on either Thurs or Sat. Let me know.

Would it be possible to take a class Thurs. night after the Pasta dinner? I don't know what kind of lighting you will have available.

Will you have one for sale at MOTD?
I would seriously consider buying one from you after you convince me that I will do more good than harm with it.

I am probably interested in a spot on Saturday afternoon around 2 or 2:30pm. I have a 1pm appointment for my sunroof to be worked on.

Sounds good. I'll put you down on the first post--where I'll keep the signup for now.

I won't be bringing any PC's with me (too heavy to fly with), but I think Detailers Warehouse might be bringing some. I'll be happy to mod them on the spot with my PC Guard/One Grip for you--you will want them after using them. =)

I'll do it anywhere you want--as long as we got light and electricity. =P I bought a great portable light from Home Depot that I used at AMVIV. It got tons of reactions because of it's unique look. It's too large for me to travel with, but I'm going to see if someone can buy one for me locally so I can use it for teaching. Cost me about $60, so it's a terrific deal--doesn't take up much space either.

You can see the light at the right most edge of this pic--the red tube that looks like a rocket, lol.

Husky Light--Rent to me at MOTD???

If anyone wants to pick one up on their way to MOTD from a local Home Depot, we can do a night class. I'll pay for 50% of it and you can keep the light =) I would just want to use it while I'm at MOTD.

Model #272-931

Husky 360- Degree Beacon Work Light

60 bucks and it produces enough light to detail by? I might have to pick one up anyways. I'll have to see how much room I have left in the MINI since I'm attending the Dragon while leaving the Army and moving back up North, I'll have a pretty full car.

Considering I had a 9x12 and 10x10 ezup in my MINI along with two Porter Cable PCs, and a Makita Buffer and full detailing supplies and Prima merchandise to sell, along with folding chairs (at AMVIV)--it takes up very little room--since it collapses into a small tube. But I had the luxury of pulling my seats for more room--and you probably can't do that--so I understand.

The light output is fantastic from such a small thing. Worse come worse, I'll pick one up when I arrive, and try to sell it or maybe leave it for next years Dragon, I dunno.

Sure as long as it's good! =) Though $75 isn't like a huge wad of cash either, lol. I'll be taking Cash/Visa/MC/Amex/Check.

Yes! Sign me up for Friday, 11:00-12:00 please.

It's really too funny to be meeting you here at MOTD since I'm normally in the LA area. I guess it is just destiny.

Please read the first post that links to my vendor announcement. This is a 1 hour class and not a complete detail. I am not detailing cars at MOTD.
