To work around that--you will need to buy a roll of blue tape, lol, cause that's going to need a LOT of tape. In fact, we'd probably spend an entire hour just taping it up, lol. What does your bonnet look like?

Haha--you've almost got yourself a full vinyl wrap!!! LOL. How a session like this would be addressed would be in evaluating what you are currently doing, what those results look like, and how you could do better/improve upon them within your given constraints. So sure, we can do a class, just realize that polishing paint like this requires more tedious effort than a MINI with no or less decals.

May as well just wrap the rest of the thing so you don't have to worry about the paint.

If nobody's after me Thur. night I'm going to do my entire car (at least get it really clean) after the class.

What time are you arriving on Thursday? Or should I say what time do you want to start?

Don't know when the car show is at the moment---so give me a time--look at Post #1 to see what's available.

You sound like my mom... lol...
"are you going to cover the entire car with stickers?"

Well perhaps then I could book a consultation with you? To discuss my options and what I could do? Cause I don't really do much other then wash it, and use some of the prima wax while you dry stuff...

I should be picking up my rental around 7:30AM from Atlanta--so from there to Fontana Village, plus a stop at the store for some breakfast--then to my booth area. The first few classes will be a little iffy--as I will need to setup. I still need to secure extension cords. Last year Fontana supplied a 100' cord for me--not sure if that's still available or not.

Hahaah--Sure---however you want to call it--it's all the same, lol. I'll be doing 30 minute or 1 hour meetings/classes/consultations...just realize that you can still polish and make the paint look good--you just have to be more careful. You also need to have realistic expectations--but just the same-when you decide to remove them--you'll still need to know how to restore the paint underneath. =)

I picked up the light at Home Depot tonight, it is kinda cool and the box is exactly the width of the boot. I'll also have a surge protector with me so if the cord's available you'll have plenty of light and outlets to use.

Awesome!! It's a great light--I've been using mine quite a bit now. Make sure to take it out of the box--it's quite a bit smaller, lol. Any chance you can pack some extension cords too?? Say a 50 footer or a couple 25 footers with triple taps? Just wishing here, lol.

OG,

Are you bringing along your magical Black Wow? I'd really like to try some. Should I order up now or just pick up a bottle at Fontana?

I had planned to, but this year I'll be sharing space with DP and DW--and from my last talk with DW--they want to become dealers, lol....sooooo, short answer is---we will have BW to sell at MOTD.

Ok just to confirm with everyone, I reserved a 20x20 tent and I'll have electricity, and a borrowed work lamp from Deviant as it starts to get dark. I'm going to be shipping class materials with me tomorrow. For everyone on my list, please let me know if you want them or not--it will save shipping costs for me if you don't need them.

The Class Materials kit is $20 and includes a 1/3rd bar of Meguiar's Blue Professional Detailing Clay--the clay I use and recommend to everyone, an 8oz bottle of Meguiars Last Touch quick detailer and lube, 2 microfiber towels, and a 1/4oz bottle of Black Wow.

I am going to be shipping these out tomorrow, so please reply today if you plan to get one or not. I will have a limited number of these kits with me as I don't want to be bringing them back on the plane--they will not be for sale to the general public--if you've scheduled a class for me, you can reserve/purchase a kit--one kit per person.

As it stands right now, I have just enough scheduled classes to cover the tent rental.....this will probably be my last MOTD event for me.

Richard

You can count me in on class materials.
And if you have anything that will work on bonnet stripes bring that as well.

I have never recieved an answer or response from you on this. Would it work better for you if I called you on the morning of 5/1 to determine a time? I thought that the class materials are supplied?

Hi Steve,

Ooops, Post#39 you asked me. Just choose a time please after 10AM...see post #1. That's where I'm keeping track of times. As it stands I will teach regardless of how I feel, lol.

As for the class materials, you're right, come to think of it, I probably did say it was included because at the time, I thought the fee would cover the basic expenses for holding the classes but I'm going to be very frank. I just found out at the last minute that I have to pay $500 to rent a tent thanks to another vendor that reamed me. The tent is ONLY being used for the classes so we can stay out of the rain should we have sudden rain. So I'm already spending $1000 to attend the Dragon, for an event that I can't participate in any of the events like most people because I'm here to teach people about working on their cars. I'm not selling any products because I was going to be referring people to this third party--fwiw, DP didn't screw me-- so I have to rely solely on these classes.

With only 6 people signed up so far, which doesn't cover the cost of even renting a tent, shipping class materials to MOTD, nor the hassle of dragging 50 pounds of tools with me on a red eye flight..... for me to attend next year, I will be doubling or tripling the fee or just wont attend period. Sorry for the rant, but this is where we are--the week before MOTD.

Richard

My Last MOTD will be next week....

Folks, I've decided that it's just not cost effective for me to do these classes for a small number of people.

I'll be bringing class materials for those that have signed up in post #1. Josh, I know you paid me, and I'll refund that back to you, as I forgot that I had said the materials were included in the fee. I just wasn't expecting at the time to have to pay another $500 for a tent on top of all the expenses just to get to MOTD.

I really appreciate everyones support and it's been fun, but I'll be focusing on conducting classes closer to home, within driving distance.

I hope those that have signed up will get a lot of bang for their buck.

See you in a week.

Richard

Bummer about your tent deal :/ have you tried contacting any other vendors to see if they would be interested in sharing your shelter? Maybe even on site you might be able to work something... just a thought. Probably too late to just cancel it and deal with rain if it comes?

Are you still doing the classes? I'm a bit confused now. If so, keep the extra to help offset your costs
