MOTD OctaneGuy and MINI Rentals....
Ok, so I just booked my flight for MOTD. I'll be flying into Atlanta and picking up a ZipCar MINI Cooper to drive to Fontana Village. I did this drive last year when ZipCar was still FlexCar. Liz Wattenberg, a MINI owner, and GM Atlanta ZipCar had a fantastic deal last year--as far as I know, nothing is happening this year in terms of promotions, but anyone flying to the Dragon and not wanting to feel left out without a MINI, you don't have to settle for a Counterfeit!!!
In case you don't know what ZipCar is, you can either read the website, or read this. You become a ZipCar member--a background check is done--so give yourself plenty of time to get started. You pay a fee, and then you are sent a membership card. You can then reserve any of their cars at locations around the country--for an hour, or by the day. They give you a gas card and insurance in your fee. You pick up the car at the appointed location and drop it off there. No rental agencies or hard sells on liability coverage, etc.. It's pretty painfree.
I'm posting this in part because Liz asked me to, but also to pass on that there are still 3 convertible MINIs and 3 hardtops left (I got one of the 4 hardtops).

Sign up and refer me (Richard Lin) and we both can get a smile on our faces and a happy feeling inside, lol.

At MOTD, I will be doing my 1 hour detailing class sessions like I did at AMVIV. There will be a sign up list beforehand and at the event. The cost is $75 per person. The classes are taught one on one or one on two for couples/families. What will be taught is claying, machine polishing, waxing, and answering all or any of your questions about car care. Given the time, I will also help you fix any minor scratches or defects in your paint. I'm waiting to hear on the logistics about doing the classes on your own cars. It may turn out to be impossible to coordinate that--but we shall see. Sign up and Discuss here:

Note: This is a HANDS ON CLASS so you will be doing the work under my guidance. I will be using Prima products though I can answer questions about other chemicals as well. Because I will be flying in and shipping some supplies ahead of time, what I can bring will be limited--but class materials will be included in the cost or for a very nominal charge--to cover my shipping costs to MOTD.

My new Nomad Portable Pressure Washers are now in stock in my shop ready for shipping. I gave one away at AMVIV. See this thread for pictures on how you can use it to maintain your MINI whether you're travelling or living in an apartment without access to a water hose.
