Well, looks like my wife and I are approved for the loans and will be ordering her MCS and my MC tomorrow. I'm getting PW with a Black roof and keeping the stock 15's since I'm going to buy aftermarket rims.

I have been a TireRack fan for a long time and they are connected with most of the mags (GRM) and boards that I read. So, I really want to give them my business (besides, I trust them above anyone else).

HOWEVER, I want black rims for my car. (And can't really pop for the $375 each for the SSR's....). Am I missing black rims on your site, or do you not carry them for the Cooper?

Thanks.

I have very limited stock in black, in fact here is the BBS RGR in diamond back. This happens to be my only black selection currently

Thanks Alex! (Although the link still showed a silver rim.)

However, $429/each almost made me choke....

Since I'm ordering the car tomorrow, I really won't need the rims until closer to when the car comes in (I'm assuming Aug. based on what I've read). I'll obviously keep an eye on your site as the time draws closer in the hopes that you may stock some by then.

Thanks for the quick response.

You bet! Yes, diamond black is a cross between silver and hematite colored, I agree.

You could just buy silver, white or whatever colored rims they are and then have them powdercoated black to match the roof.

Are the Sport Edition Fox 2's dark enough for you?

how funny, i've got a PW/B cooper, and i've been wanting black wheels for the longest!
you know what they say about great minds! i think i'm gonna save up for either the ssr's or some volks. i haven't seen any other black wheels that i really like! although rspeed has some wheels in black that you may like!

b.t.w i have nothing to do with rspeed!

I like both of those but I think the second one is better.

Alex - Well, I just wanted to see if TireRack had anything that I didn't see on the site. I'll still probably check before I place my order.

Azwed - I hadn't considered powdercoating. NE idea what the cost is per wheel?

teldon - I am not familiar with the Sport Edition Fox 2's.

nfo - Yeah, great minds DO think alike! I looked a rspeed and wheelmax, who both have black, just wanted to try TireRack first.

Funny thing is, my wife and I are going to the dealer tomorrow to place our orders. We are chomping at the bit to get MINI's, we may just buy what's on the lot!!!

Thanks for all the replies.

Team Dynamics/Rimstock offers nearly every wheel in their line in White, Anthracite, Black, Yellow, Chome, Silver and even does custom colors! They make a number of OEM wheels for the European market and have a great collection of designs. The wheel above (pro race 1) is a great one, however I currently dig the closed lug look and if I want to remove the covers...

I have the 17" Monzas in Anthracite on my S and I love em.

Check out http://www.OutMotoring.comOut Motoring

I can get any wheel in their line inlcuding the Pro Race 1 and Pro Race 2 (nearly identical to the Centerline RPM but with 5 spokes) and most of them ship in a day or so. Pricing is way below the numbers that have thrown around in previous posts.

Hope this helps!

FYI, I ordered a set of 17" Pro Race 1's for $169. They have recieved excellent reviews by the WRX crowd.

A MINI site that I didn't know about!! It's great to see that you carry some of the best products out there from various vendors.

I am in the market for black wheels also, but I want the wheels to match the roof, so flat black won't do it for me. I've only found the RH CP8R (shown above) and it's knockoff, Arospeed Crazy8 in glossy black. Have any of you other black wheel lovers found any other glossy blacks out there? And if that isn't picky enough, I also want a polished lip. From a distance, all black wheels without the polished lip look like someone stole your hubcaps.

Just and update (since I started the thread, I feel bad, I've been packed at work).

I ended up ordering a BRG/B instead of the PW/B. I really wanted the BRG deep down. Too many British cars in my life not to have it.

I still think the black rims would look very nice.

Course, now I am trying to decide whether maximum (street) performance is more important than the black rims. I know that I am going to stick to 16's. It'll be a daily driver so a "little" less harsh and 16's are generally lighter anyway.
The question now is, stay with black rims (and be limited to 16x7) or go to 16x7.5 for a little wider patch and lose the black rims.......

I still have a couple of weeks (supposedly 4) until I will need to buy them.

See what having to order a car and wait does?

And as far as the question about black instead of flat black, http://www.rotawheels.com has true black.

Thanks districtofc for the pic. That just confirms what I want. I've finally narrowed it down to a 16x7.5 Team Dynamics wheel in gloss black. I found this company on the web: http://www.colorworksmotorsport.com/teamd.html
They carry a number of wheels and will powdercoat them in any color you want (250 colors to choose from!). Although I REALLY liked the idea of BRG rims, wife nixed it. I've got an email into them about hardware (hubcentric, lug bolts) and will post results.

Anybody else heard of this company?
