Looking to buy '15 or '16 JCW -- help!
Hi guys -- been lurking for a while, great forum!
I am looking to get a JCW as my 'weekend' car, during the non-winter months that allow such things here in Cleveland. To that end, I've fallen hard for the JCW -- I come from a VW turbo background and from what I can tell, the MINI community is just as lively. Plus -- I live near ECS Tuning and they cover both brands
I am looking for a fairly loaded model, and was wondering what kind of pricing to expect for a '15 at the very tail end of the model year here. Is invoice reasonable / good deal?
I found one in SC and one in AZ -- I am willing to fly to SC and drive it back.
Looking for:
Color
851 Chili Red Body Color
Packages
7L5 Wired Package
3AG Rear-view Camera + PDC
ZCW Cold Weather Package
ZPP Premium Package
Options
223 Dynamic Damper Control
2LY 18" Two-Tone John Cooper Works Cup Spoke
2TB 6-Speed Automatic with Paddle Shifters
329 Black Bonnet Stripes
345 Chrome Line Interior
383 Black Roof/Mirrors
4F3 Glowing Red Color Line
507 Rear Park Distance Control
5A4 LED Headlights with Cornering Lights
6AD MINI Head-Up Display
Thanks guys!

If you get them down to invoice your pretty good. I called them to see if they would order for me cheaper then Hendrick in Charlotte and they wouldn't budge from MSRP. They currently have one listed for $1500 off, which is pretty good. The 2015's qualify for 1.9% financing while the 2016 don't. Look to see if you qualify for USAA or BMW loyalty credit because someone else in helps you qualify. That might get your price down another $1250. I'm still waiting for my 2016 which is supposed to be on a ship at the moment.

Somewhat surprised that folks are only getting $1k off MSRP. But, it is rare model.
I did find 2 on cars.com, SC and AZ. Getting shipped from AZ would add cost. I would drive it from SC.
... or wait until next year. I have a SUV for winter, so not really interested in buying a car for October delivery and then sticking it in storage for 6 months.

If you put on low miles it might be worth it to lease. Run the full numbers and compare to financing + residual.
Normally MINI's aren't discounted since they're build-to-order. With the ones that are sitting on lots you have room to negotiate if the dealer is willing to entertain that. The more interested you are in the perfect spec than finding the best deal, the less discount you should expect to obtain.
Just as an aside, I've had a couple VW's in the past. I had a Mk6 GTI and a Mk6 Golf TDI. They were both very nice but the MINI simply has so much more character, and eccentricity.

Thanks. I guess even if I get MSRP I'll feel ok with it.
I had a MKIV Jetta 2.0 8v that I supercharged, and a B6 Passat that I chipped and tuned other ways. Traded those for a Hyundai SUV that I really like, but want to get back into tuning and customizing, thus the MINI JCW.

I ordered a loaded 2016 JCW Hardtop that I'm picking up Friday. I am totally expecting to pay MSRP which will be about $45k but that's because I wanted it how I wanted it so I have to pay for it. If they give me something off I'll be happy. I do have USAA and MINI loyalty. Either way I'll have the hottest hatch in the neighborhood and a biggest smile on my face. 😀😀😀

USAA is a bank/insurance that is available it military. They have dealer incentive and a car buying service. I think for the 2016 it's $500 for the JCW.

My JCW Coupe was off the lot, sticker $41k I paid $39k, but half the discount was because they threw in the notorious "dealer installed options" like the $300 stubby antenna and the $200 sun shade lol. Scottsdale likes to put Lojack and a year of Sirius XM and tinted windows (which are the only thing I'd pay for). You should get $1-2k off sticker. I paid sticker for my 2007 off the lot in Scottsdale. Get Drew Bessenfelter for an MA he's great.

Ha. The car my Cleveland dealer is trading for is in Tempe AZ and has LoJack and tinting, neither of which i would ever do myself and tint % may be illegal in Ohio.
Is LoJack even a real thing anymore? The Cleveland dealer does it too and I had to laugh. Really?

That's weird. I ordered mine in late June. It is on the Ivory Arrow at the moment. It spent last night in Baltimore and will be in Savannah it looks like this afternoon. It's showing off Nags head outer banks at the moment. My deal with dealership was they would give me $1000 off MSRP. I would then get all incentives etc. that were available to me at time of delivery. Nothing has changed in August. I would like to take delivery after first of the month. Because they may have changed incentives available first of the month.

Good luck, hope you can get it. If you do post up some pics.

That sounds like a winner, fly in drive back and you've got it on it's way for a perfect break in. Actually, with many of the dealers that haven't been able to sell the automatic JCW's, and how loaded many seem to be, there should be more deals like this out there for the people that want/need an automatic. My dealer has been using theirs for a demonstrator and I am told that they haven't had any offers on it.
