R56 Wheel/Tire Suggestions and Advice

Hi guys. So I purchased some cheaper wheels and made a poor tire choice about a year ago. (Sparco wheels and low profile tires. I know I'm an idiot)
I am looking at JCW wheels and good set of all season tires. I was hoping you guys might be able to offer some advice and suggestions on what you are running now. I drive an R56 Cooper S.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks

-ZW

+1 on Michelin AS 3's

BUT also keep in mind on how the car is used or driven... spirited or less spirited?

There is also Michelin AS Premier that offers 60K mile tread warranty versus 45K on the AS 3's.

Both available at $70 off at your local Costco Tire Center. Looking at approx. $520/set out-the-door with lifetime everything.

Best of luck!

Awesome! That is excellent. I was not really thrilled with my previous tire rack purchase. And my driving is well.... Very spirited.

I've currently got a set of Bridgestone DriveGuards on my r56. As far as a runflat tires go, these are the best of what i've been exposed to. Significant difference in ride comfort and road noise over any of the OEM tires. Not put them to the test in snow, but i've had zero problems in wet conditions. I even had an oh $#@! moment when i was doing about 55 and couldnt avoid an area that had pooled up a few inches...they plowed right through it.

If you don't mind me asking how have they held up since your 2014 review? I've seen all of the praise people on NAM have been giving them...but I have also seen some bad reviews on tire rack as well. (Not sure how trust worthy that might be)

just had a set of these put on (at costco as well) last week, they had an executive member discount code for free installation, so another $60 off made deal even nicer. they take the rebate off the top so you wont have to mail in anything also.
normally i would have gone for a more aggressive, softer compound, tire but i'll be driving a lot of miles and wasnt up for replacing tires every 6 months. so far so good, tires are quiet, plenty of traction in the rain.

You gotta love Costco!

TR advised to have it rotated every 3K for the first 10K.
