What do I do about hubcentric rings?

Ok so I think I have found the wheels I want. They are 4x100 and are the correct offset for me. Only problem is they were off a Honda. What do I do about hub-centric rings? Can these be purchased somewhere? Do I have to 'rig' something up? Am I out of luck?

Give me some good news!

Is the hub on a Honda larger than 56.1mm ? I was under the impression the Honda spare was an inexpensive alternative for MINI owners.

I believe that most are the 56.1. These will be an aftermarket wheel so I'd figure the hub will be better than 56.1 and they'd use rings. Is there a place you can go to get any hub-centric ring under the sun?

Call Tire Rack.
Do a search on the internet for hubcentric rings, many places will be listed.

I found justforwheels.com but I can't seem to find the rings for Advans! :(

But they do offer custom sizes.

Ebay seems to be a good place to find them, generally like $15 shipped or something. Being they arent anything special, just some plastic.

I know a shop locally that could fab you some up possibly.

I suggest metal rings instead of plastic.

I think most online wheel vendors, at least the bigger ones, sell the rings.

I ordered my wheels from 1010tires.com and I believe the rings came with wheels.

Interesting. I can never recall running a metal over plastic. In fact all the rings I've ever had for my aftermarket wheels were plastic. What would be the advantage of metal? Not melting or breaking under hard stress?

metal rings won't melt under heavy use ( autocross ) as will plastic rings. call tire rack -- really good people.

My question is how often do the plastic ones melt? I've had plastic on during track days and as have my friends with aftermarket wheels and have never even heard of a ring melting...

Not very often but with heavy brake use and track days its very possible.

The other thing with plastic rings is they get beat up (dents, dings) with frequent removal/installs which can make them hard to get on/off. Of course you can inspect and clean up the rings (file off the bumps) but that is extra work.

Even my metal rings get beat up over time.
