Radiator leak caused by o-ring?

Many have complained about leaks in the OE radiator, and some have speculated that the culprit is the o-ring that seals the connection between the upper elbow and the radiator. Has anyone studied this any further? Has anyone found a source for the o-ring? TIA.

I have no heard of that O ring yet, I was hoping someone would measure it then off the size I can cross ref against other BMW / MINI parts to find it. Also if the seal is ok , most I have seen get hairline crack at the neck connection so they its a replacement of the rad anyway.
