Original OEM brake pads and rotors

Hi,

I searched all over the internet and I can't find where to buy original OEM brake pads and rotors. Do I get those at the Mini Cooper dealer? Any website that you would recommend?

Thanks for the help.

Go with the aftermarket pads, save a few bucks and they'll be better with less dust.

Call me at the shop tomorrow if you need help selecting.

for a GEN1

if you want OEM quality stuff

you can probably get everything you need at your local

AutoZone or PEPBOYS

my local AZ has 3 different pads on the shelf for a GEN1 MINI

very different then a few years ago I admit!!!!!

(and avoid the shipping charges of MOSS or MM . . . but if you want ebc or mintex . . .)

Save money on pads and rotors go aftermarket plus much better pads, not sure I would put generic parts stick with CarboTech, Hawk, EBC, Mintex, etc.

In my experience all of the NAM vendors are good. I have used Classic in Mentor OH for this sort of purchase, with no regrets. Also, some dealers give a discount to members of NAM or the local MINI club, which frequently gets the price 'close enough' to make it worthwhile.

If you want the OEM stuff, I would try www.morristownmini.com and http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=5277

You can mail order from them.

While Centric rotors are good, you are surely going to have fitment issues with those pictured.

I know it was a generic pic, just sayin'.

Sorry to revive an old thread.
My local dealership has a pretty decent discount for our local Mini club. Cheaper than any local independent shop can sell (quality) aftermarket pads/rotors.
Is it better to spend an extra $150 for all 4 aftermarket pads/rotors for less dust?

15% off retail is common at many dealers...
That having been said, you can get a good pads in many places for less than the MINI cost...and more specific to HOW YOU DRIVE. The MINI OEM pad is a decent Daily Driver pad, with TONS OF DUST...for less you can get a nearly dust free ceramic....or if you need a performance pad, get a pad that does things the MINI pads would BURN and SMOKE from...
Rotors...you get what you pay for...
Centrics are good (get the premium with the painted "hats".....I know LOTS of folks that use them, no issues. IMO buy rotors locally (unless you want a SPECIAL PERFORMANCE ROTOR)..shipping on them is $$$, but buy pads on line..biggest chance of saving $$.
Just have to compare the prices....
